As a therapist who works with many people who want food to have less power over their lives, Katie is my dream referral. The feedback I've gotten, from the clients we share, is that Katie respects her clients and the knowledge they bring to the (metaphorical and literal) table. I have witnessed shared clients have profound mindset changes in response to Katie's casual and respectful approach.I have also worked with both Rachel and Shannon when they were both in other practices. And they both stuck out to me as terrific professionals for similar reasons.

I have been working with Katie and my experience has been terrific. She is incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate. Balanced Nutrition has a lot of resources to offer! I'm even working with a chef to learn recipes and meal planning. I highly recommend Balanced Nutrition for anyone struggling with eating/diet issues.

I have had several nutritionist visits with Rachel, and it’s been a really wonderful experience—and it’s great that it’s covered by my insurance. It goes a lot deeper than meal ideas and suggestions; she really gets into your relationship with food and challenging old ideas.I had a one-hour Zoom cooking session with Shannon, and it was fantastic! We had a phone consult beforehand to discuss what kind of meal ideas I was interested in and then selected a recipe. We made chicken teriyaki with garlic ginger snap peas over coconut basmati rice, and it was super easy, fun and delicious. She shared several helpful cooking tips — including tips for the perfect rice and how to keep chicken moist. Can’t recommend both of them enough! If you’ve had bad experiences with nutritionists or dietitians in the past, give this a try — it’s a completely different experience.

I have been working with Allison for almost two years and she has been nothing but supportive, knowledgeable and kind. She is great at collaborating with other health care professionals and always challenges my negative thoughts around body image and food. I love that she’s always honest, even when the truth is hard to hear. I’ve also attended groups at Balanced nutrition and have found them to be a safe, supportive space to connect with others.

I don’t know where I would be in my recovery without Balanced Nutrition. Absolutely 100% recommend to ANYONE who wants a healthier relationship with food, their body, their health, and so much more. I’ve worked with several clinicians at Balanced and everyone has been supportive, patient, and understanding. It is a safe place for in-person sessions and virtual sessions. Can’t say enough great things about this place. Natalie rules!!

Natalie at Balanced Nutrition has been working with me since 2016 through recovery for an eating disorder. She has been an important part of my support system since stepping down from in-patient treatment. Natalie has a very progressive perspective on food, body, nutrition, health, and weight that has completely challenged how I think about weight and understand cultural norms and issues that fuel disordered eating and chronic dieting. If you’re looking for a nutritionist who is going to put you on a diet to lose weight - this won’t be the place for you. BUT if you want to learn how to care for your body, break disordered thinking and habits, and heal your relationship with food/weight/body - this is the place to be.

I have had a wonderful experience at Balanced! Allison Alderman and the other staff members have always made me feel safe, welcome, and supported! I don’t know where I would be without them. The dietitians are currently meeting with clients via zoom for safety, but the office is one of the most calming and inviting offices I have ever seen, and I look forward to returning in-person when it is safe to do so! I live out-of-state, and I absolutely think that coming to Balanced is worth the drive! I would encourage anyone looking for nutrition support to come here. Thank you to Allison and Balanced for everything that you have done for me!
