Had been excited to visit Shanks after buying a cool piece years ago. Was overwhelmed by the high prices for pieces that need work anyway. For example: This doll is for sale for $35. I was surprised that they werent priced to sell especially after one of the workers complained that people arent coming shopping there anymore. Dont plan to go back.

Five stars for an amazing collection of wrought iron and other things like cast iron tubs and sinks. Loved the collection of mermaid statues. And the garden arches! Everything has such unique characteristics unlike factory produced made in China junk. Haven't been inside yet since I arrived after they closed but it was fun to imagine an incredible backyard garden spot.

The barn and yard is full of great architecture finds, metals, and what-nots. The old house is full of old interesting items. A bit spooky...but some good dishes, glassware and more interesting finds.

My wife and I had a great experience here today at this antique and architectural salvage place . We were looking for large-scale, wrought-iron pieces to mount on a large, blank outdoor garden wall at our home. We found something we liked and the owner lowered the price since we bought two. We are very happy with our purchase and will be back.

Great place, really cool stuff. But they will not bargain on their expensive stuff. Such a great place to find vintage hardware and fencing. I’ve given up on them. I’ve decided they are just hoarders and really aren’t interested in selling their stuff. I have left with nothing several times. Why would they want that?
