Being from Michigan, we've got certain foods that we've had or have ate in our lifetime that are just a 'thing' for us. My girlfriend is from Louisiana, and i feel like they pretty much eat anything. So when I told her about a Pastie -- and how we ate it any time we went hunting in the UP in MI, and she gave me this crazed look.... I knew at some point i was going to have to get her to try one. Let's get up to current day --- i was looking for a place where we could go eat dinner and came across Mr. Pastie on Yelp. Amazed and shocked -- i checked out the pictures and knew that i had to get some of them to try. I came in during the morning -- and WOW the selection was huge. Never had i saw some one do a philly style, mexican, or cordon bleu pastie. My mind was blown. I purchased SEVERAL. Some that I was eager to try, some more basic ones i could give to my girlfriend and my roommate (who was from Mississippi). It was a hit. It was great to be able to share some well crafted pasties with my friends and family and share some of my "home-style" food with them. Onto the store --- it's very small, but everyone in side was extremely friendly. Especially when they found out that I was from Michigan. They even wanted some tips and feedback from me on how they tasted. So --- here is my feedback. Delicious. Tips? Go try one. You can eat it plain, top it with ketchup, hot sauce, or gravy (chicken/beef/turkey), or come up with your own thing. Hidden treasure, 100%.

The best pasties. This is not an eat in establishment this is where they make and we can go in and purchase them and then leave.

Admittedly this was my first time trying a pasty. The employees were extremely friendly and informative which I appreciate. The inside looked very clean and I didn’t have any doubts about the sanitary conditions. The downside is that the pasty didn’t taste all that good. The portion was big, but the bland and dry texture seemed to outweigh that bonus. They also only offer 1 hot and ready option which was the one I tried ( beef and potato ).Maybe this is just how pasty’s are and I’m an uncultured swine, or perhaps it just isn’t that good, either way I probably won’t return for more..but again, the staff is very very nice and I felt super welcomed.

I'm a first timer. I took home a frozen Traditional Beef and a Traditional Chicken, plus two Blueberry Fruit Pasties for dessert. The cooking directions were accurate. Both meat pasties came out of the oven well baked. Both of the meat pasties were on the dry side and could use some seasoning. I think a little gravy would solve both issues. The fruit pasties were delicious!I'll be back to try more.

I really really wanted to love this place, but it just wasn't good. I found the savory pastie to be very flavorless and dry. The fruit pasties were definitely better, but compared to other hand pies I've had over the years I'd take a Tasty Cake gas station hand pie over this dry thing without question. My buddy ordered something completely different than me and he felt the same way... very dry and lacked any flavor.I loved the small town charm, but that was about it. I would not return.

I placed an online order for 4 pasties and a pound of cabbage for next day pick up and I got a message in the morning that they were unable to fulfill the order. How is this possible? It's outrageous and unacceptable.

Tucked away one block off of RT 512 in the quaint Borough of Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania this decedent location cannot be missed. In a nondescript building lies a filling and tasty meal called a Pastie. It's a dough pouch filled with a variety of meat or vegetables options. Beef and potato can be purchased hot or frozen. Most other varieties are typically available frozen. The pasties are made on location and there are no seats or dine in option. Everything is to go. They accept all forms of credit cards and of course - cash. Bring you appetite and take home a uniquely Northeast Pennsylvania meal that you can eat with your hand.
