Do not go here. They blatantly lie about what needs to be done with your car to get money from you in hopes you do not know. They told me I needed things to pass inspection which are simply not needed as verified by another mechanic friend. When I called them out on it they panicked and backpedaled and tried to cover it up with another lie. AVOID. Dishonest service.

I went here on Saturday 9am to get a light taken off my dash for my saab since you can only use a tech 2 to connect with saabs ecu. Owner wasn't there but his brother said to come back next week because he's at the shore. Okay sure it Saturday I understand. Come back the next Friday at 10am, owner is there and I explain my situation and he says sorry im closed and im going to the shore... again. A 3 minute talk shows the care free ignorant personality of the owner. I can see why story's garage said to proceed with caution. Shame story's closed. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

If you want the job done right, this is your place. Good luck finding better automotive expertise, if you're wasting time trying.

I cannot say enough good things about this establishment. The overwhelming experience and passion flows out of Tom the moment you shake his hand. Tom and his son Ryan are extremely knowledgeable, fair, and honest mechanics. I took my jeep in for inspection and within the hour they had called me to tell me I needed brakes done. An hour later my jeep was delivered to my work completely finished, ready for the road. Very reasonable prices and exceptional service. The neighborly mechanic & family owned business vibes are strong! I'll be bringing all my business here. Thank you Carter's!

I bought a nice 1994 Saab off of a wonderful older lady who had her car serviced at the shop since forever. She gave me a stack of receipts, 2 inches thick. I simply called to ask about some of the repairs and the owner was a super ignorant person, and extremely full of himself. I would not take a lawnmower to him to repair. I was simply a new owner and wanted to keep the car maintained at the same shop but obviously this guy doesn’t need work or doesn’t have any customer service skills. I also also brought up a particular repair he made on one invoice which he replied that he 100% would never do anything like that though I have the receipt and his signature lol I don’t know how many older so 900s are still out there but you might want to think twice about taking it here. Tom did great work, did it quickly, and did it for a fair rate, no hidden fees or up selling. Customer service was incredible, it felt like I was dealing with family. Easily the best experience I have ever had at a mechanic.

100% awesome experience with the owner of this business!! Great Human!! While traveling from Ohio to Philly (last hour of my drive) my battery light came on and dash flashed “check charge system”. I knew this meant my alternator was not charging my battery and I may soon be without power!! But I was on the turnpike. We googled “car repair near me”. It was Saturday at 5. We didn’t think anywhere would be open. We headed to Carter’s. They were not open when we got there (Google said they were open until 11pm). But I called and left a (quite panicked) message. Not only did Tom call me back. But he stayed in touch with me the rest of my journey. He is very knowledgable! He’s concerned! And he worried way more about my safety than about making a buck from me!! I ended up too far away from his location to use him but he still took his personal time on a Sunday to stay in touch with me and helped make sure I didn’t have unnecessary work performed on my vacation. Great guy! He’s a no-nonsense, real car guy. (Just like the one I use at home!!) Best find on our vacation!!

Tom is fantastic and one of the nicest people I have ever met. My car was leaking coolant and Tom was able to not only find the problem but he was able to fix it quickly. After that he was having trouble bleeding the engine and he went above and beyond to make sure it ran right and was fixed properly. He went above and beyond when repairing my car and went above and beyond to make sure that it was fixed properly the first time. He is a great man and an even better mechanic. Tom is someone who will go above and beyond to find the solution to any problem!Service: Engine repair

We had a great experience. Tom is very kind and honest. He seemed very invested in his work. He made it easy for us to get needed repairs and cared more about his work then making money. If you have a Saab like us, he can take it apart and put it back together bottom to top. Great shop.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Tom Carter is a mechanic of the first class.I have seen some reviews who were unhappy. Tom is a fair person, if there was an issue, probably he would give your money back.. Likely the issue was that when the car was up on the lift, Tom saw important safety issues which needed to be repaired. Possible did not get clearance, but now here is the point.Tom is not letting any unsafe vehicle out of his garage.Tom is a force of nature. He fixes itsh

TOM CARTER IS AN UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISHONEST MECHANIC. He quoted me a price and I said go ahead with the work, once it was done the price nearly tripled and he never said the cost would be any different until I was handed the invoice, which had extremely unprofessional language on it. I showed this invoice to many other mechanics who said he was an embarrassment to the trade.
