*There is no internet in the cabin. You can get access at the campground next door or up in the parking lot by the road.My husband booked cabin 4 for a week getaway for me. First, there are no pictures online where you can actually see the inside of the cabins. So we went into it blindly not knowing what to expect. Cabin 4 is the last one on the road and you will need to turn around in the road which one side is against the hill and the other is a cliff down to the creek. Kind of nerve-wracking but manageable. Not as easy with longer trucks. We got to the cabin and it was a typical cabin from the outside, has a cute screened in porch leading into the cabin. There is another door on the back side leading out to the grill, fire pit and picnic table. You can also access a path down to the creek (Pretty steep but if you take your time, it's good) or go up a trail on the hill. There is also a path behind the cabin you can walk through. Just know that hikers/bikers can access this area, so just be aware.Entering the cabin you are in the main room with fireplace. The smell is overwhelming of fire. I know some like it, but it was very strong. The kitchen and main bedroom are also on that floor. Downstairs houses the bathroom, shower and room with 3 bunk beds. THE ROOM HAS A VERY STRONG MUSTY SMELL. If you have allergies, this could present a problem. They do have a dehumidifier there but the smell, it was just so strong and hard to get past. Imagine mildew and musty smell. The dehumidifier did fill up while we were there, but it's on a ledge and I couldn't reach it to empty it.The toilet seems to have an issue with gasket not closing or something. It will flush sometimes but if it hasn't been used in a while, it will not flush. If you're with a group, this could pose a problem. The shower was filthy. This cabin needs some major rehab. The wall the shower sits against is rotten. I seriously don't know how they think it's acceptable to have the conditions they do. (see pictures)There is a hole in the bunk room in the wall. Their fix to this is to use duct tape which doesn't really work. The kitchen...When we arrived, I went to load our food into the fridge. There was food left in the fridge which included old food that was rotten. Was it a big deal to clean it out? No, but I'd think they would have done this before new campers came in.If you plan on cooking/storing food or anything in the kitchen, PUT EVERYTHING IN SEALABLE PLASTIC CONTAINERS!! There is a major mouse problem here. (Yes, it's the country, I live not far from here so I am well aware.) I made the mistake of leaving a shopping bag with towels, utensils and closed bags of individual chips on the counter. Mice got into it and let poop everywhere! I had to throw it away. I would not plan on cooking there. The oven is FILTHY and has mouse droppings as well as the stove burners. I ended up bringing in a portable induction burner to cook on.We ended up moving the garbage can outside, which seemed to help too. We had left for the day before moving the can outside and there were mouse dropping all around the trash can, in the can and on the counter.I finally ended up just cleaning the place up, wiping everything down, sweeping, mopping etc.The bed in the main room is VERY uncomfortable. I ended up bringing an airbed to sleep on.I know this review seems negative, but I want to give you the facts of what you are walking into. I was ready to leave after my initial walk through. It really needs to be updated like they did to 1 and 2. The windows are terrible and you can just tell they have not kept up on this cabin AT ALL.The view and having access to trails and water was AMAZING! I enjoyed unplugging and just enjoying nature. Would I return? Maybe. Now knowing what I am walking into, I have a better feeling of the place. Going in blindly and having to deal with it sucked! I am also attaching pictures of the other cabins since they are not easy to find online. All interior pictures are of cabin 4.

I was hiking this morning around 11:45 and sat on a stump to take a little break while watching a pileated red headed woodpecker hammering away on a tree . Up the trail a little a park worker got out of his truck on the way to the shop and asked me if I was OK , I have I hike most of the county parks.I would like to thank this man for asking how I was , I was fine, I can’t commend him enough for his concern, this never has this happen in any other of the parks in 25 yearsWe should be very proud yo have our county park to hsve such a caring worker. Thanks Buddy!Ron Jones

I made reservations for four nights because they said they had working restrooms and showers. When I got to our location, the restrooms were padlocked shut and so were the water pumps nearby. They had two Porta potties. I would have never made reservations there for that many nights with two small children and no access to water, toilets, or showers. The park should have at least notified people making reservations that they were closed so we could have made an informed decision. We wound up going home after the first night because we didn't even have a place to wash our hands. If I wanted to camp out at a Primitive campsite I would have gone to Lake Towhee.

This is very nice campground. Clean and friendly people all over. Everybody respect each other when its quite time and still everybody having fun making campfire, walk around the campground, play at the playground. Only thing is there is no big dumpsters where you can throw away trash and they have maintenance truck by the small trash cans where people put the trash on the truck and during the night there is bears coming to hunt for food, but trash cans is covered with iron frame and locked. On our visit first time here when we pass by that truck there was a small black bear. Watch out people who sleeps in tents that there is bears. Dont leave food by your tent or trash.

The trails and views of the Tohickon creek are awesome. Great place to hike and enjoy the spring dam release of lake Nockamixon. We usually see multiple hawks during our hikes at high rocks. Definitely a nice place to enjoy time outdoors and even catch some Rock Climbers in action.

Beautiful views. Mountain climbing is allowed at specific points on route. Overview point was nice. Overlooking a horse shaped river. Pretty rocky. Suggest walking stick but not necessary. Can be muddy depending on weather so hiking boots would be a better choice but not necessary. Have fun!

Hiking trail if about 4 miles takes you to the High Rocks Vista area and back. Several trail options so you can loop the hike. Beautiful woodland scenery and creekside views.

Nice small park with a covered picnic area and swimming pool! I don’t understand the pool hours, however. Why is the pool not open on the weekends?? The trails are in decent shape, but for a first time visitor, it wasn’t obvious where the trail started and where they lead. More signage would be helpful. We asked a friendly guy who lives nearby for directions to the creek. There are also cabins to rent.
