This Aldi used to be great. Not so much anymore. Messy. Empty shelves. Nasty people in yr way. Also, prices have skyrocketed. The employees are nice tho.

The cashier gave me $40 cash back when I did not select cashback.
I love aldi, but I'm reviewing this particular location and this particular cashier. This has happened twice now (last time, it was $10), and the cashier told me it has been happening all day.
This cashier blamed it on the system (and last time she said that I must have clicked the button, which I did not.) This shows zero accountability and a lack of customer service skills. She didn't even say that she would bring this up to her manager.
She just laughed and told me she didn't know how to get the money back on my card, and that I could go to an ATM.
I have never heard of this kind of "glitch" happening on any POS system (and Google search didn't bring up any stories either). It's quite unbelievable that the system would allow such a huge error to continue for more than an hour, let alone weeks on end. I suspect this cashier simply needs more training in knowing how to use the system, customer service, and teamwork/reporting issues to the manager.
I will do my best to not shop at this Aldi until they tell me in their reply to this comment that the issue has been resolved.

Usual Monday, much picked over. Many empty spaces on shelves and freezers. Short staffed, but workers are pleasant. No self checkout at SS location, so pick lane 2 'cuz lane 3 might open. Come Tues-Sat for better selection.

Please start treating the employees better so they don't have to be so hostile to customers. I'm sorry that it's an inconvenience to have to open another register when people are shopping on the way home from work but to spike my food into the cart and yell at me is uncalled for. It's not my fault you're so miserable.
If you shop here always check the dates on items because these shelves are filled with expired products.

So apparently Aldi in the US is not like Aldi in Deutschland / Germany. This place is very confusing to a European but I will start with the cart layout. The cart layout is opposite to how it cart immediately to the right, where there should be a newspaper stand, and coffee. So it's very confusing if you want to be organized with your shopping.
The OnePlus side to this is that it is in a local college area. So in addition to the overpriced meets and charcuteries, there are lots of meats and charcuteries. If you know what I mean.

We go grocery shopping here all the time. It can get sorted of packed most days, so if you have anxiety or don't like loud or crowded areas, this may not be the place for you.
However, they have the best selection of gluten-free stuff that actually tastes like food. The deli cheese can sometimes taste a little flavorless, but the deli pickles? Amazing.
The cashiers can be in such a rush sometimes to get rid of long lines they may not hear you very well. There is almost always a misbehaved screaming child. It has its ups and downs.
There is accessible parking if you come by car.

Unfortunately it's my neighborhood aldi, but service is often rude & selection is very picked over & unreliable. Meh.
