We are at the bar. The staff was friendly and fun. The food was delicious. The meatballs were sublime. Craft cocktails were better that most places ( try the Italian margarita).

Single disappointment was the room was cooler than should have been. Got nicely busy after 7 with jazz across hall. Enjoyable.

This was our first time there. The food was excellent, as was the service. A great place to eat and listen to live music.

Review of Cucina Alfabeto for 8-25-2025 The food and service were good to very good. The place was too noisy for our hearing impaired friend even though he brought an amplification device for the table of 4. It would help if they included sound absorbing items in the dining room decor.' I tried to order the chicken and then the scallops which were both not available. We arrived at 6 pm! We were early on a Saturday; this was poor planning on the chef's part or on the part of whoever does the ordering. At a minimum they should include a note inside the menu so you do not try to order these. There were no gluten free desserts except panacotta or sherbert which has become standard in too many restaurants in Pittsburgh for GF. It is boring! There are excellent recipes for gluten free cakes and pies in a variety of cookbooks that all customers would enjoy. The chefs just do not want to bother to make them. One example is the Clementine Cake Recipe | by Nigella Lawson. It is fabulous!

We all enjoyed our dinners. Our waiter, Erik, was a lot of fun and very helpful. It was wonderful to enjoy live jazz music while dining, not many restaurants offer that in Pittsburgh.

Jazz was "good noise!!" Chicken Piccata & Cacio e Pepe were pretty far off authentic. Great tasting cocktails, were very late arriving. This trip, the lower dining and auditorium lighting settings were perfect!

Dinner was wonderful. I started with an Espresso Martini, then Butternut Squash Ravioli' which were amazing and perfectly cooked. I opted for dessert, even though I normally skip it and ordered the Carrot Cake which is not to be missed. I love it so much I'm going back again for a second night in a row.

Excellent pasta, fine service, complete bar. Helpful with adjusting reservation to help us get to a concert.

Insanely over priced. Staff out front on the floor talking about things I didn't care to know, and should be spoken about in privact. The place was empty except us, and I understand why. Don't fall fake tiktok reviews like we did.

We recently celebrated my husband's birthday with a dinner out, and I wanted to share what a fantastic experience we had. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was exceptional. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered several recommendations that turned out to be spot-on. The bartender crafted a great drink for us, and when he realized he didn't have one of the ingredients for the rim, he remade it to better accommodate our request. It was so good, we asked for the recipe and he kindly shared it with us at the end of our meal. We also brought a birthday cake, and the staff went above and beyond by serving it with candles, making the celebration even more special. It was a memorable evening, and we're already looking forward to returning for another great meal.

This restaurant (formerly 40 West) is under new management. It is in a performance venue, which can be a plus or minus if a concert is going on when you are there. It is difficult to carry on a conversation during a performance but if you are there for the concert, not a problem. Last evening the restaurant was woefully understaffed and the kitchen was terribly slow - more than an hour wait for entrees after we had finished the appetizer. Food was randomly delivered - half of the table, then 10 minutes later the other half. We had to ask for silverware when the entrees finally appeared. The Caesar salad was well-prepared but the romaine was warm and the bowl was warm. The entrees were good with the exception of inedibly burnt and flaccid poor quality asparagus. The waiter kindly rounded up some replacement asparagus. Our waiter was hard-working and very professional but the kitchen was apparently overwhelmed and the food was not prepared in a timely manner. We used to enjoy the previous iteration of this venue but will not return for dining given the price point and inferior dining experience.
