It's been nearly 3 years since I purchased my Haworth Fern office chair from here and, having used it nearly every day since, the chair still feels like new. Everyone here was extremely helpful and more than happy to double check every detail for me whilst going through the process of customizing and ordering the chair and I recommend that anyone who is serious about getting a proper office chair to check them out.

I work for a local university and wanted to order a sit-to-stand desk for my office. Limited to companies with contracts with the university, my assistant reached out to burkeMICHAEL (Feb 2). It was a disaster from the start and I should have just told them to find a different company. It took over a month and a half to get a simple design and order placed (Mar 31). Promises to drop off veneer samples at a specific time that just didn’t happen, several days between email responses. The 4-6 week delivery time didn’t bother me. However, when the desk finally arrived (5/23), it was completely incorrect—the L shaped design was backwards so it did not fit in my office well, and the separate extension piece (which I had somehow missed in the design—not sure why the short side of the L would be the side that needed an additional piece) was cut completely incorrectly. Not to mention there was a failure to include the correct pieces for the motor so I had to sit at a desk that was at the lowest position. The company apologized and said they would get the right pieces quickly. Quickly apparently meant 5 weeks (6/28). I was then informed (7/7) that they had still shipped the wrong smaller desk piece, but that they could cut it down and at least give me the right L shape and get the motor working. But when it was delivered, it turned out that they sent the wrong motor parts so it still didn’t work. After some unconvincing apologies and no offers of any compensation for my inconvenience, they told me that the correct parts would be shipping on Aug 3. It is now Aug 13, and I have received no further information.It is almost comical how painful (both literally and figuratively—the whole point of the sit-to-stand was to reduce the back pain I was getting from sitting for so many hours each day) this process has been and I cannot believe I have waited over 6 months for a relatively cheap sit-to-stand desk when I could have just ordered an Uplift, received it in 3 days, and put it together myself for a lower total cost.The only good thing I have to say is the company they contract with for delivery was excellent. On time and great communicationUpdated to add: My desk was finally completed and functional on August 15th. The company did compensate me with a nice chair from their showroom that appears to be in excellent condition, so I appreciate that gesture.

I had the pleasure of working with Tim while I was considering options for a new ergonomic chair. I am not a buyer for a huge company, I was purchasing one chair for my home office, and he still gave me the attention that I expect he gives to the top buyers and big spenders.Tim has the patience of a saint! I never once felt like a nuisance for asking too many questions, or as though I was inconveniencing anyone else in the office space whilst hopping from chair to chair. He walked me through every adjustment, every feature, every upgrade, every fabric option, and was thorough, transparent, and accommodating throughout the entire process. From the design, to the rendering, to the payment, the entire team was phenomenal, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.And for those wondering, my new Haworth Fern is PERFECT. It’s an ergonomic chair that doesn’t scream “I’m a clunky ergonomic chair” when you see it in my space.I highly recommend Burke Michael to anyone looking to design a commercial office space or purchase furniture for their home office needs.

They deal mainly in providing Haworth product but seem quite snooty and bizarre. We were really uncomfortable and left to go elsewhere.

Whatever you do, do NOT choose BurkeMichael for your office furniture needs. We have never had such a horrible experience doing business with anyone in the last 40+ years! They were incredibly friendly in the beginning until we signed the order to furnish our entire building at which point everything changed. You have to send 5 e-mails for them to get back to you, they forget to place orders for certain parts, some items arrived 18 months later than promised. Also, don't expect them to fix their mistakes. They make the customer pay for every time they mess up (which is a lot!). If you are OK with waiting 2 years for your project to be completed and paying twice as much as what you had agreed to, then this is the company for you.

My employer needed some older Haworth parts. I was turned away because our business wasn't worth the trouble to them. I contacted them at least twice. I'll be sure to pass the word to as many of our company's half million employees as I can. One star is too many.
