They did a fine job on my auto. They were courteous, work was completed in a fair amount of time, the price was in line with the service completed. I have gone there before, this place was recommended by a neighbor, and I will use this service facility again. They are AAA recommened.

Brought my car in to check over my electrical before I wore down a new battery, like I had the day before. I installed a new battery and I had advance auto run a test to inspect alternator performance. They reported no issue. Technician at Dave Smith hooks up his battery and alternator tester, has me cycle the lights but not turn on the car (how do you test a generator without letting it generate...) Then tells me his device is reporting that it isn't producing enough power and needs to be replaced. Cool I'm game, I'll even go pick up the replacement. Test it at O'Reilly's, no issues. Decided to check at a SECOND advance auto location and again it reports no issue. Every single test required the engine to be running. It seems obvious why the technician at Dave Smith was reporting that it wasn't producing power, it wasn't connected to a running engine! I know that technician knows more about cars than I do, so I can only assume they know how to use their testers. Either they didn't know how to use their tools, or they were trying to rip me off. Either way it was worth writing this. Double check anything these guys recommend at another shop, and then get the work done at the other shop.Service: Auto engine diagnostic
