They changed the phone robot to something unnecessary complex so it takes 40 minutes of answering a million questions just to check my balance

Been a happy customer at Dollar Bank for 40+ years. Switch from Mellon years ago after a mistake on their part cost me, and they never acknowledged it.

I’m really disappointed in my experience at dollar bank, especially when I was lied to recently. I opened an account for a nonprofit I run. Apparently there is something we missed on our end that the bank needed. They contacted me a year ago and I sent the information I received from the state and didn’t hear back so I figured it was handled. Just this week I received a call that it was urgent. When I called back, the employee informed me my account would be closed in a week’s time for not having this document available. The worst part is the lie. I informed the employee that I thought it was handled over a year ago and never heard back from the bank. The employee told me that they tried to get ahold of me and cannot. I never delete an email and I have all of my voice mails saved going back to 2018. They all transcribe into text so I can quickly check them. I received no communication since my last response where I sent the information I had received from the state. A year went by without any communication and then suddenly they want to close the e account. The employee then had the nerve to get nasty with me for being justifiably upset. I’m so disappointed.

This bank mis coded a money order. The money order was returned six weeks after I deposited it. The bank manager then refused to help me insisted that it was the fault of my tenant. I brought my tenant to giant eagle where she had purchased the money order with cash. As far as I know you have to pay cash money for a money order in order to get it. The branch manager was very stubborn insisting that the fact the money order was returned was the fault of my tenant. The bank manager said that I had deposited a photo copy of money order instead of the original money order and this was a false assumption on his part. I spent a whole day running around on account of the fact that the bank manager would not acknowledge the encoding error. The manager should have been able to look at the copy of the money order and been able to tell that there was a coding error made by dollar bank. Because of the stubborn and lazy behavior of the manager I had to make my tenant prove the money order was good. The manager told me that checks or money orders could be taken out of my account for a time period of 180 days. Keep in mind that this money order was returned SIX WEEKS after I deposited it. So if you want to bank at a bank that takes money out of your account a HALF YEAR later without telling you; then this bank is for you. Fortunately I deposited the money order that my tenant paid CASH Money for into a passboook savings account. Had I deposited the MONEY ORDER into my checking account it is likely that the checks that I wrote my vendors would have bounced. Keep in mind that this bank will take money out of your account, cause friction between you and your customers or vendors and then not take any responsibility. It takes180 days till checks or money orders are cleared at this bank and the manager told me as much.
