This was a fun experience! We went and got the vegan $45 pre fixe tasting. All staff were very pleasant.
The first course of appetizers were all good, the broccolini and farmers salad second course were very good and we really liked the cabbage pastrami and lions mane birria. All very tasty but I wouldn’t say as good as other veg restaurants in the area.
I think the biggest draw back was that we paid $45 a piece and the portions were small enough we didn’t leave full. So if you have a larger appetite and the money for it, I would definitely recommend getting the 5 course option instead of the 3. There’s a chance we will come back and try that in the future!

It was a fun experience and some of the dishes were good, but the portions are tiny and quite expensive. For the prices I expect much higher quality flavors.

Food was delicious, portion sizes were satisfying without making us feel too stuffed, wine pairing pours were generous, staff was super friendly! We were happy we splurged on a fancy meal while traveling for a special occasion. I happily paid over $300 for the 5 course vegan menu for two, with wine pairings & an additional course we didn’t want to skip! At that price point, I really wanted the flavors & presentation to blow my mind. It wasn’t the most delish meal I’ve ever had, but we certainly enjoyed it a ton. The vibe of the restaurant also seemed too casual for this price point- staff in cotton logo tees & a pretty standard cafe aesthetic in the dining room. Expected it to look & feel more fancy, but it didn’t dull our experience with the great service or the food.

Tried this place tonight and it did NOT disappoint. I got the appetizer sampler and the cabbage pastrami. Portion sizes are small but delicious! I left wanting more.

I do not mete out 5 star reviews lightly, but Eyv is THAT GOOD. Every dish take inspiration from traditional meat-based dishes or all cultures and extracts the best parts of them, recreating them with vegetables and grains. The Cabbage Pastrami was the best example. It didn't attempt to look like Pastrami, but when you stuck it in your mouth, you immediately grabbed that garlicky, smoky, springy sensation. It's friggin' genius, and every dish we had was executed with the same care and creativity. Oh so, so good!
Vegetarian options: Best vegetarian restaurant we visited in 2024.

Extremely disappointed with the customer service. I mistakenly made a reservation at their location instead of a similarly named restaurant in New York City. I immediately reached out via email explaining the honest mistake and politely requested a refund for the cancellation fee. They ignored my email completely.
When I followed up with a phone call, I described the situation to the person on the line pretended they couldn’t hear me and then hung up, even though they clearly recognized who I was. This behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable. I would have appreciated at least a response, even if they chose not to issue the refund.
Would not recommend this place to anyone—terrible customer service.

Very imaginative and delicious food, great service. My companions also raved about the cocktails. The squash falafel and cabbage pastrami were the winners for me, we tried every item on the menu.

We had a lovely meal. They were very accommodating for food intolerances. The portions were just enough to be filled up without being excessive. Beautiful plates. Will definitely return.

We randomly walked into EYV and had one of our best meals in Pittsburgh. The food is incredible (it is all vegetarian, but that doesn't matter if you are a meat eater, it's so good). The cocktails are also incredible, the bartender is extremely talented (try the Baraganette; it is amazing!). And the waiter Rod was fun. I highly recommend this place.

Wow. We were a group of four ranging in age from eight to 77, and we all had a wonderful experience. That's not easy to pull off.
The staff were delightful -- perfect mix of friendly and engaging without being intrusive. The chef/owner is right there making the food and seems to be the nicest person in the world! I thought chefs were supposed to be total a-holes.
And of course the food was out of sight. We had one of everything and there wasn't a dud among the dishes. Drinks were great, too!

The food’s really good but falls short of amazing. EYV’s cooking is fun and creative, whether through an interesting flavor combination (chocolate, ginger, peanut) or a reinterpretation of a dish (the farmer’s salad). Their website indicates as much. They’re proud of being innovative. And for that reason alone, EYV is worth checking out.
Personally, I think what would’ve pushed the food from really good to amazing is more depth of flavor. The best flavors of the ingredients weren’t brought out in full intensity. I wished the beets tasted more like beets, or the turnips more like turnips. Slicing the turnips 3x thicker should resolve it, but I’m not sure what to do about the others.
As for drinks, the mai tai is absolutely delicious. Order that. The Golden Goose needs a touch of syrup, lime juice, and a few drops of saline.
Service was excellent. Waitstaff were really friendly and helpful despite what must’ve been some annoying requests.
