Every time I go here it is such a treat. The cabbage pastrami is out of this world. The broccoli chicharrones and hummus fritters - also unmatched. The service is so down to earth and friendly. They have AMAZING non-alc cocktails. I truly try to go here as much as possible!

This was one of the best restaurants we have ever been to. Better than Apteka. Chef and staff were very personable.

Vegetable forward, but every bit delicious. My friends brought me for my birthday a while back, and we had an incredible meal. The staff and chef even wrote me a sweet birthday message. We struggle to find places our vegan friend can enjoy, but we all cleared our plates. I’m very impressed with how East Ohio is attracting great food like this. Can’t wait to come back.

We were a table of five people who dined for the first time at EYL Restaurant earlier this evening. From the service to the kitchen to our plate, we were treated to the most original and creative gourmet vegan and vegetarian cuisine that I have had in a very long time. In fact, my husband stated that the last time he experienced anything close to this was at a restaurant called Atelier Crenn in San Francisco years ago. We were happy to be able to speak with the chef-proprietor to share with him our first impressions of the restaurant, staff and cuisine. I was very impressed that beyond their culinary perfections they made and served, there is a genuine desire for EYL to be a contributing partner in revitalizing this historical community of German town. I additionally want to thank the owner and the staff mindfulness to incorporate important social as well as sustainable practices into their business- there are gender neutral restrooms, which says to me that everyone is welcome here and will be treated with compassion and respect; and the use of wash clothes, instead of paper towels, says to me that reducing their carbon footprint is important to them. If you are a foodie, gourmand or gastropod, indulge yourself to a delightful meal. And as a vegetarian, I would like to encourage to everyone to consider eating a vegetarian or vegan dinner once a week- it’s delicious, healthy, and you’ll gain a lot of virtuous merit!Vegetarian options: The menu is primarily vegetarian, and there are many vegan options.

I don't know how we only just found out about this place, but it is AMAZING! Every dish we were wowed by, each new item was SUCH a delight! We got the snack sampler to start and absolutely everything from there on out was a unique, great experience. And the apple tart at the end?? Perfection. Absolutely coming back! (And there was SO much I could eat as a person with gluten and dairy allergies!)

Was taken here as a birthday surprise. We had the seasonal tasting menu and got to sit at the counter for the chef’s experience. I’ve got nothing but great things to say about this place. Amazing food. Amazing staff. Fun, laid back atmosphere. Thank you R.O.D, Chef Mike, Maddie, and Zach! Can’t wait to go back again!!!Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating to dietary restrictions!

If you have preconceived ideas about a plant based menu - do yourself a huge favor and let them go! Try this restaurant. We are internationally well travelled and EYV tops the charts of places that we've eaten - irrespective about plant based menus. In short "it's the bomb." The sampler is a terrific 'thumbnail' of all things great, the arancini are to die for, it's hard to select things to comment on because everything is literrally mind blowing. The biggest surprise for me was the endive tart. Actually, I didn't order it - my husband did. He was generous and shared it with me - can't describe how delicious it was. Chef Mike is a genius. Our server, Rod, is a sensei. We were so taken by this fabulous food that we arranged to take some back to our home in Boston! We' made a reservation to return in 2 days. Do yourself a favor and 'go for it.'

All these 5 star reviews are frankly confusing. Our unfortunate experience at this restaurant began literally from the time we walked in. The design of the restaurant is such that when you walk in you are essentially walking right into the start of the seating area. The host desk/booth/area is halfway across the room but there wasn't a sign or anything and nobody was there to greet or direct us in so we didn't see it at first. We stood huddling next to the front door until finally someone behind the "bar" went over to the host desk and started yelling to us over the people seated eating. Luckily it wasn't busy although the few tables with people I'm sure were bothered by the exchange happening over them instead of a sign or some sort of direction from the staff member to either come over to the host desk or something rather than yelling to each other over the people seated trying to enjoy the food. The staff member decided to seat us upstairs even though they had plenty of available seats downstairs. We walked upstairs and they attempted to seat us at a two seater table, which wasn't bad because there were two of us, however, the table was slightly small and was directly on the wall. Being right handed there was no way we would have had a comfortable eating experience so we asked to just sit at the bar that was upstairs. We took our seats and the staff member went back downstairs. We were the literally the only ones upstairs and there was no music or anything at all just us. After awhile he came back to ask if we wanted anything to drink and it was almost like he was on some sort of drugs - completely out of it. We got some waters and started to look at the menus. He disappeared again. When he finally came he took our order but was still fairly out of it. We are vegan and were excited about the "plant first" idea but when discussing the changes to the dishes that would have to be made to make them vegan we were kind of disappointed. We ordered the hummus fritters and the bao buns to start and the cabbage pastrami and potato Mill Feuille for entrees. At this time we also asked for some more water as our cups had been empty for quite some time. He said he was out upstairs but that he would go get some more from downstairs. He never came back with water. He did come back with our appetizers though. The bao buns were nearly flavorless, and the hummus fritters were so salty that the lack of water was becoming a serious issue. Over this time two other couple had been seated upstairs and another staff member was attending to them so we asked him if we could get some water. He promptly pulled out some from behind the bar. The original worked I guess didn't even look for it. Anyways. Our entrees came out and to say that the potato Mill Feuille was lackluster would be a gross exaggeration of any positive attribute. It was literally five small pieces of fried potatoes, 4 pieces of turnip, less than 2 bites of wilted spinach, and some sauce. For the amount they charged for that dish they should be charged with robbery. The cabbage pastrami on the other hand was incredible. As we were eating our entrees we also noticed that the other two couples upstairs with us had turned to three and all of us were experiencing a less than good time. This place needs some serious work to actually be what it is trying to be. Which might I say is a great idea.

A new favorite! The food was delicious, they're super gluten-free and vegan friendly, and they use local farm ingredients. It's rare with all my food restrictions to have so many options. There's also a fusion style to their menu that's delightful, with sophisticated compositions and plating. Staff were super conscientious and friendly. It's one of the best meals I've had in a while, but I had never heard of it! Discovered while walking down East Ohio Street. This meal just made my week. Such a great place.
