I loved my room and the people were very friendly. I used valet parking but it was still difficult to pull in due to limited spaces in front of the hotel. The location is not ideal and I felt that it could use security.Rooms: Clean and comfortable.Safety: Did not feel secure in the evening.

Clean rooms, quiet, in a central location to downtown. The staff is friendly and the breakfast was decent.

Very very Unsafe locality for yourself and the car whether you valet or not.Receptionists are nice, their manager is not.To sell Valet service, they installed signals where to park for valet, not letting customers know where you can park for loading and unloading. As we had to park for 5-10 mins for just checking-in into hotel, we confirmed with reception if its okay to park the car for 15 mins, they confirmed yes. We came out in less than 10 mins as we were in hurry to go somewhere and we see a parking ticket and the officer right next to the car. We asked the officer, he mentioned thats what this hotel does very often. We asked hotel reception about it, they said they were in some confusion, they asked to speak to their manager if the ticket cost be covered by the hotel. Reached out to the manager 3 times that day and next day, she wasn't available. Late evening on the day of check-out, she called me and said in a rude way that they wouldn't cover it the cost. I responded politely "thanks for letting me know", but I don't want other customers to face the rude behavior and know that loading/unloading section is between their signals for valet.Again, nothing in your car is safe, whether self park or valet. Our previous hotel was also one of the Marriotts in Cranberry Township, that was a 4-5 star experience. So coming here was like falling down from a sky walk into a ditch and breaking your leg too. This hotel was the only bad experience in the whole vacation.Rooms: Minimal spaceNearby activities: Escaping from crime and homeless nearbySafety: Most unsafe placeWalkability: Most things are near but walking is extremely risky even during day time.Noteworthy details: Use Valet section for loading and unloading

Nice clean hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, but our truck and 5 other cars and trucks were broken into during the night while parked thru the valet service, windows smashed out, my husband's iPad was stolen, change and phone charger and shoes, we left and came home, he tracked his iPad and it shows in the area where the homeless tents are sent up around the corner of hotel, we will never stay here again, police report filed , totally ruined our weekend , they need to have the homeless removed from areaSafety: Homeless in area, truck broken into

Booked online, check-in was easy. Very professional, and no issues. When I got to the room, I was slightly disappointed with a few things. The pictures online are not accurate. I was hoping to have a door or separation between this sofa and the bed, since I had the king with sofa suite, I did notice that it was still the same 300sqft as the other rooms, the bed and other furniture items seem to just fit in this small room and make it look comfortable, I was very pleased to see two very large flat screen TVs that were very easy for me to plug in my Chromecast or computer. I like the placement of USB power ports near the bed coffee maker and desk they had underneath the one TV. I was disappointed I didn't get to enjoy the breakfast buffet, it looks like it's got plenty of healthy choices, and even a coffee bar. it's almost five stars, because if you bring a car there's no parking you're on your own. The sign out front is not very large and it's difficult to find the hotel. Otherwise this inexpensive Marriott is a great place to stay downtown.Walkability: It's right downtown, close to the courthouse buildings, Smithfield Street news, just on the other side of the Smithfield Street bridge from Station square. Bus stops out front, bikeshare within eyesight of the front door.

If I could give 0 star I would, Book somewhere else do not stay here!! Right out front are dozens of tents and garbage from homeless and if you’re walking outside they will approach you and make you feel uncomfortable. The staff is very rude and they don’t seem willing to want to help you. There is a parking garage 1 block away instead of their valet service that will be a lot cheaper if you park your car yourself. They have some freezer snacks and food that you can buy but it is so overpriced it’s not even worth it, Not to mention the poor renovations they have done it looks cheap unprofessional. As a Marriott hotel I expected a much nicer environment, higher quality and better customer service.

Profit over people. Ask your multimillionaire company to donate to help the homeless communities instead of invasively filming them, and verbally assaulting the community nonprofit aid staff assisting them while spewing harmful rhetoric and stereotypes. Manager should lose his job as should receptionist laughing and filming homeless people. Shame shame shame.

To the manager and staff..you are horrible horrible people, taking pictures and laughing at the unfortunate people who are homeless. I pray you never are in that situation. THESE PEOPLE ARE HUMAN BEINGS AND REGARDLESS OF THEIR SITUATION..THEY DESERVE RESPECT..shame on you.

The front guest staff were very nice. One giant problem is the homeless camp right accords the street. I’m not bashing people you are down in there luck but it was not a safe situation. My wife and I witnessed a fight right out in front. The rooms were nice but wouldn’t stay here again until the homeless situation is fixed.Walkability: No walkable due to unsafe environment!

This hotel is in a bad seedy area of the city and I felt very uncomfortable. They have no on-site parking and a $38 fee for overnight valet parking which is very steep. The room was ok but I did not like the location or the expensive parking fee and I do not recommend it.

I stayed here with my girlfriend last week and we enjoyed our stay. I had a small issue with a parking charge but Deborah was incredibly helpful in getting that corrected even though I called about it after my stay was over and noticed the issue. I was unsure if the situation would be resolved but Deborah was excellent in helping me. The hotel is an easy short walk (15mins) to Fort Duquesne and the Heinz History Center (20mins).The one negative comment I have is that there was a homeless camp there that wasn't the best view when pulling up to the hotel or walking out for the day.

We book this room because of “Pet Friendly”When arrived the first thing we noticed was all the homeless in the area with tents right next to the hotel. I can say the staff was super nice and the room was nice. however needed to take the dog out and found out they don’t have a designated area for pets had to walk a to find an area for the dog to go (not easy in downtown - not much grass near by except for across the street where the homeless is camping out and still not much of area. The grass area that was across from the hotel had used needles on the ground differently not letting the dog in that area!. If you value your safety this is not the hotel for you. Not pet friendly at all - if you’re advertising pet friendly you should have a designated area for pets especially in the city where it’s mostly concrete everywhere.
