I have had good luck at Fort Pitt Classic Cars on 2 occasions. I have a 1956 Chevrolet. Last winter, it required a speedometer repair, which took several weeks because a third party was involved. But storage in the meantime was no problem. This year, the transmission linkage needed to be repaired, and that was done properly and promptly. I found everyone in the organization to be courteous, professional, and a pleasure to work with. I am glad to have their support in keeping my car on the road!

Bought my little 57 Nash Metropolitan from Fort Pitt Classic Cars. JD was probably the nicest car salesman that I've ever dealt with. Kept me informed through out the whole process. Treated me as if I were buying one of their more expensive cars. Jason who rubbed out the paint on the car did a fantastic job. Linda in the office was so very polite . They also referred me to A&A Auto Transport who were not only affordably priced but got the car to me in a very reasonable amount of time.

Take your car somewhere else! Same as Mike E's posts. Work claimed to be done was never done. Parts not ordered timely (I ended up having to order them), in my opinion-invoice churning and more. After having my '62 Corvette worked on by Fort Pitt Classic Cars and having many positive interactions with the owner, Ron Libengood and his team, I found a '58 Continental that I had Fort Pitt inspect prior to purchase to see if it was a good candidate for a complete restoration. I was told by Fort Pitt that the rust was likely only surface rust and it would be a quick and relatively inexpensive restoration. Well after almost 4 years it was neither quick nor cost effective. There were some unexpected things that no one could have predicted, but I put put my trust in Fort Pitt Classic Cars and Ron Libengood to restore my car the right way from start to end. Unfortunately that trust was misplaced and I feel that Fort Pitt Classic Cars and Ron Libengood took advantage of my trust.....I do not restore cars and hired who I thought were experienced professionals (experts) and relied on their expertise to complete my project the correct way from state to finish in a professional manner to industry standards- I was paying for a "cruise quality" restoration. Check out the contract (attached)- when invoices are payable upon receipt and if not paid, work is stopped on your car. My contract clearly states 125% for materials, but I was charged 130%. First, there are over 30 cars at any time getting "restored" at Fort Pitt and their project management is lackluster at best. Many cars at the same stage seem to create log jams and very long waits to get work completed. I found I had to wait unreasonably long times to get to the "next stage" of my restoration and I always seemed to have charges popping at for "earlier stage" work. 11/14/19 - I was billed $160.50 for a vehicle assessment, which I paid on upon receipt - on 12/19/19 I was given an estimate of $17,888.26 to restore the mechanical portion of my vehicle. On 2/17/2020 I was given an estimate for a total restoration- mechanical/body/upholstery of $58,008. Work commenced on my vehicle in March of 2020. Due to covid delays, turnover, not being able to find parts, etc. this project took almost 4 years. I finally pulled my vehicle from Fort Pitt after over 3 years of them "restoring" it- they did body work and mechanical only and I ended up paying over $130,000 for their "work" and considerable out of pocket expense for parts I sourced myself. We had numerous conversations about cost containment to no avail. Even after the cost containment conversations they they decided to tell me that there we thousands of hours where I was not charged their $5/hr shop supply fee. I told them I was unwilling to pay this charge, however the owner fought to make me pay this but eventually gave me a "credit" for this amount- it was their oversight!I instructed them from the onset of the project not to do anything with the windshield wiper/spray system as this was going to be a CA car- I told this to the body shop crew, the mechanical crew and sales crew. I was still charged for this and when I brought it to the owner's attention I was told their policy was to comply with PA State law/inspections and I would be charged as this was their "policy". I explained to him, I told him, his sales manager, body employee and mechanical employee that I told everyone this from the onset of the project, this was going to be a California car and I would expect them to do what their clients want. Our contract clearly states they will charge 125% for materials, and they charged 130%. They did not source most parts- I had to source them myself and have them sent to Fort Pitt. They never actually fixed/restored most of the issues with my car. They were unable to diagnose most things and even when they did their diagnosis was incorrect or their fix was incorrect and the issues had to be re-worked multiple times, clearly churning m

Please do yourself a favor and find another place to take your car. And if you have to use this business, keep your own detained records of communication and invoices, because I promise you, they are not.We trusted this owner and his business when he said he could do an engine conversion on our Delorean. We chose this business because they claim to specialize in this type of thing. Our original estimate doubled and it took over two years to get the work done. The owner and his assistant were full of nothing but excuses and gaslighting. We were billed for research hours so the technician could learn how to do this job. Ok, but why didn’t I just take it to Penzoil then? In the very end, we had to bully the owner to get our car back and guess what? It has issues. The manual transmission won’t go into 5th gear, the air conditioning we paid to repair isn’t working and has damage that wasn’t there before. We now have to pay another shop to correct this work as I can’t risk having to fight to get our property back. Please save yourself the headache.Service: Engine detailing

My husband and father in law have been searching for a 57 Chevy Bel Air convertible for years. They’ve checked out a few, but there was always something not quite right with either the car and or the individual trying to make the sale. That all changed when my husband found Fort Pitt Classic Cars while searching for a 57 Chevy online. We traveled from South Florida to meet with Ron and are so happy we did! He answered all of my husbands questions and was very helpful. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. We didn’t feel rushed and really enjoyed our time with them. My father in law and husband found their dream car and couldn’t be happier. Thank you Ron, Linda and Jay for your time and all of your help. You went above and beyond and we really appreciate it! We look forward to heading back to PA to enjoy the city and would love to stop by to say hello. We highly recommend you check out Fort Pitt Classics if you are looking for a classic car and or service for your car. The vehicle my father in law purchased is a beauty and rich in history. The previous owner really did an awesome job with this car. The Bel Air has retired to Florida and will be very well taken care of in his honor. Thanks for everything, Ron!All our best,Mimi, Sam Jr., & Sam Sr.

Took my car to have the light swirls removed from the paint, The Detailer said sure no problem that will be $400. He gave my car back to me 8 hours later with the interior spotless and they same swirl marks still present in the paint.Pretty expensive interior detail if you ask me. If you don’t know how to remove light swirl marks from paint I suggest you don’t tell the customer that you do.Service: Paint repair

I presented my classic car for evaluation and assessment of work that needed to be done. They were professional, prompt and reasonably priced. They performed a thorough assessment of my car and wrote an excellent report with clear recommendations and estimates for work to be done.
