Upon taking my laptop in for a minor software issue, I picked it up to discover that they deleted absolutely everything from my hard drive, even though I signed and explained that they needed to preserve EVERYTHING. Photos, documents, all of it. Gone. I was highly upset and this was met with disrespect and rudeness from apparently the head geek. They made NO efforts to restore my stuff or make anything right. I WILL be filing a complaint with the company and maybe even talking with a lawyer. I feel as though I was robbed by a bunch of incompetent idiots. I will NEVER set foot in a BestBuy EVER again. I would leave ZERO stars for this review if I could.

I wouldn't recommend the Geek Squad to anyone. I had an appointment for service today at 12:40 PM. I sat down with my laptop at one of the 5 open service windows (6 total windows). I was a few minutes early and noticed a store employee bringing some merchandise to another customer and dealing with him. (he was the only employee who seemed to be working!) At about 12:55 a couple sat down in chairs positioned at the side wall of the store, beyond all the service windows. A few minutes later a second employee appeared from the back room and asked if he could help them. He took a name, went to the back room followed by the other employee. He popped out to recheck the name given, again later to ask for a phone number, and then disappeared. I left the store at 1:10, after waiting more than 30 minutes. I stopped on the way out to let the woman who had greeted me know that I'd come in for a scheduled visit and hadn't been acknowledged in that entire time. It appears that there are very few people working in this Best Buy store, but I feel that if you can't provide the service, it's deceitful to offer it. In addition, it took 10 minutes on Monday to schedule this appointment (Name, phone and appt. time were all that was needed.)
