Great option for health nuts as well as those with allergies, intolerances, etc. There's a wide selection of groceries for every kind of diet and lifestyle. I'm gluten free, so I enjoy that there's really not much in the store I can't buy. (it actually might be all gluten free at this point?) Great way to discover new brands too, because there's a lot of foods/brands out there I've never heard of. They have a great selection of dry food, but also a fresh food selection of veggies and frozen items like fresh meats from local farms. Plus, they are also owned by Pittsburgh Juice Co, so you'll find your favorite juices in their fridge as well. I like that they work with local brands like Baked True North, Onion Maiden and more. Way to root for the little people just trying to get out there! They have a kitchen and offer daily fresh food selections too. Everything I've had is delicious, so it's worth a stop in to get something fresh to snack on and bring home some groceries.

A very quirky establishment. An odd and uneven selection of products - I've been in here 3 times and have walked out empty handed each time. There is no phone number available for them, and they don't keep their posted hours. So, you can't call to see if they decided to be there - or to see if by chance they have what you're looking for. Personally, I'm not wasting any more time at this store.

Stopped in for dried unsweetened coconut chips. Heirloom had them for the same price as Trader Joe's (who were out of stock). Good deal! Guy working there was very friendly and took the time to thoroughly answer questions. Small but interesting inventory. Saw what looked like some prepared food toward the back as well.

This place was cool to stop in. The lunch available was great. Someone needs to fix the bulk prices on the website though, they're completely off from in person!

This Yelp event definitely helped jumpstart my healthy journey for 2019. Heirloom features products from an abundance of awesome local vendors with something for everyone. I was educated on matcha, honey, tea, soap, Blue Majik and cold pressed extra Virgin Olive oil from Sicily. The vendor samples aimed to please, the beverages and food from Happy Vegan, Just Right Spice were great but I must say the star of the event was Pure Grub with the nut cookies, sauté pineapples, chunky cooked apples topped with crumbled nut cookies, quinoa vegetable medley and the grass fed mini-croissants! All of the staff and vendors were so nice. I left Heirloom invigorated to start a healthier new year.

As a long time patron of the 31st Street Pub (the former business at this location; a punk rock live music venue/dive bar) I had a bad attitude about anything taking its place. I was salty and the Pub is missed by many of us. I walk by several times a week and had refused to go in. That all changed when we had reservations at a local restaurant but had time to kill. This definitely ain't the Pub anymore. It's bright and light and full of healthy food, drinks and more. The original Pub side door covered with band stickers remains. It was cool and unexpected to see it left there as homage. We entered and were greeted immediately by one of the owners, who it turns out is a friend of my boyfriend. He was super friendly, told us all about the store and its concept, the events and services they offer and described some of the products to us. He told us about all of the local businesses they support by carrying their products and partnering with them and how they plan to sell even more. He introduced us to a sample of a ginger probiotic tea that was absolutely delicious. We purchased a 16 oz growler of it for only $4. Incredible price for an amazing beverage. I mention that they carry local brands so I was happy to see Pittsburgh Pickle Company, Onion Maiden, Wigle Whiskey sauces and so much more. I'll probably always be salty that the Pub is gone but hey Joel was ready to sell it and retire. But, I will also frequent this shop again because supporting local business is so very important especially when the prices are right and you're treated with respect and hospitality as though you're walking into someone's home.

Heirloom is a neat spot for local "health" products/food. To my knowledge there aren't that many of these types of shops in Pittsburgh so it is great to see an addition to the list. They offer things from fresh organic fruit and roots, to local honey/maple syrup and various packaged food items, to juice from Pittsburgh Juice Co, and they even have a small kitchen. I believe they have eliminated all dairy and gluten from their selection throughout the store if that is something that you're interested in/require. Some items are very pricey (in my opinion) but you must consider the conditions: organic, local, small business, etc. but other items are well priced. I bought a huge chunk of organic ginger for $1.80-a great price- after going to 3 of my normal grocery stores and being unable to find some for weeks. I hope to return!

Heirloom offers a variety of food and personal care items that are sourced from the most organic, ethical, and healthy means possible. They stock produce and snack foods, as well as ice cream and frozen foods. Some of the items are hard to find anywhere outside of ordering online, and going here saves a lot of hassle and waiting for those items. Well worth a visit.

When I can't get to the market, let the market come to me! I was thrilled to see this recently opened market at vegfest. I learned that they bring in local sourced products from other vendors both online and those that have storefronts. In addition to food items they have baked breads, beauty products, pasta, and so much more. It is primarily organic and they do work hand in hand with the Pittsburgh juice company which is not that far away from them in lower Lawrenceville. I learned they do serve a limited selection for lunch but I was urged to try their sprouted quinoa and veggies from pure grub which is an organic superfood online business. I was also impressed with the bag of "Brussels sprouts" puffs. Having tried the cauliflower puffs that I sampled before I thought why not? They also carry gluten free items as well. They gave me a fresh chilled one to take home and believe me I couldn't stop eating that quinoa and veggie. It was both very good and filling but not to the point of being overfilled. Saved the bag of Brussels sprouts puffs to snack on at home. I really love the innovative ideas they come up with for vegan food. Can't wait to check out their storefront on my next journey to the Strip District!

I stopped into this brand new little market yesterday. It is located in an unassuming retro building on the corner of Penn, and the 31st Street Bridge in the Strip. Since the store is new, it seems like they are just getting started with a few shelves worth of goods, with lots of room to expand. They also offer a limited lunch menu (Gluten-Free and Vegan choices were available), and a few comfy chairs to sit and eat-in if you choose. The store offerings include mostly organic and/or all-natural choices. They have fresh produce, non-perishables, health & beauty, bulk food, and a refrigerated cooler as well as a freezer. They also have a cooler for cold drinks including fresh pressed local juices. I saw various items that were either grown or produced locally. Nice little shop . . . I wish them much success, and I will stop back again, next time I am visiting this part of the Strip . . . Cheers!
