Warning: they completely swindled me. I signed up for the $89 tax preparation service and I have heard ads about how H&R Block tells you their preparation prices up front. I was shocked at checkout when they charged me $224 for preparation services. I would not have let them file my state or local taxes if they told me they were charging an additional fee.
Someone reached out after I left a negative survey response, but after I replied and asked for an explanation of charges and a refund for state & local, they did not reply. This was weeks ago. I’m incredibly disappointed (not even factoring that I ended up owing money on my taxes in addition to this outrageous fee) and will never file with H&R Block again.
Additionally, when I came in for my appointment, the first thing Latonya said before taking me back was “our system is r*******.” I should have trusted my instinct and left immediately when that happened.
Adding one star because I do believe my return was accurate.

I will never go back to this place again it’s becoming ridiculously pricey, they charged me 500 dollars to do my taxes, then I asked if the irs would take anything out of my refund from the previous year, they lied to me and said they would not and in fact the irs did. Every year their prices go up and then they still try to upswell you on products that do absolutely nothing for you. I’m telling you go to a private tax preparer or do it yourself using TurboTax H&at block is absolute garbage.
