After flying with my bike the derailleur needed a VERY last minute adjustment before a multi-day trip. My flight got in late and by the time I got it together it was close to closing time. I took it in hoping they would be able to help and John got it dialed in in no time at all. Everyone at the shop was super friendly and extremely helpful! Couldn’t be happier their service!

My 20+ year old bike feels brand new and I couldn't be happier. Very affordable and friendly. I dropped my bike off and Jesse explained to me what the issues were and we negotiated a plan. Took about 2 weeks but worth the wait for sure. Very happy with my experience. Strong work :)

This review is long overdue. I don't even live in Pittsburgh anymore but wanted to still give Kindred Cycles the positive feedback they deserve.I went there looking for a new bike because mine had recently been stolen. I wasn't really sure what I was looking for other than an "all-rounder." Katharine asked what types of riding I was planning on doing and suggested a gravel bike. I was a little skeptical at first never having had a drop-bar bike before and thinking it wasn't my style. But Katharine encouraged me to give it at least a test ride before dismissing the idea - and I am so glad she did. Compared to the mountain bikes and hybrids I had before, the Kona Rove gravel bike felt so much more compact and light and the whole riding position felt very natural. I never knew a bike could "fit like a glove." Katharine also took her time making sure every position was 100% adjusted to me, I never had to adjust it since. Not only is this still the best bike I have ever had, the folks at Kindred are also the best bike shop team I have ever encountered. They aren't just trying to sell you a bike, they want to make sure they find the best fit for your biking needs. I live in Boston now and am still looking for a new bike shop to fill their shoes.

Amazing, amazing shop! I had no clue what I needed and they were so helpful. I never felt silly about asking questions and Kathy took the time to explain a bunch of things I never would have known to ask!

Nicest people that I have ever dealt with at a bike store; immediately you feel comfortable. I bought my first mountain bike in the late 80s so have visited several over the years. They are super knowledgeable; happy to share it with you. And, they are definitely not pushy at all. They are the type of folks that you want to sit and have a beer with and just geek out with over past and future adventures.Alicia helped us and I chatted with Katherine as well. Alicia insisted that my friend test an additional bike so that she was extra sure that she had picked the right one. She gave me some advice on my bike and freely gave me new stem size information so that I could order it myself. The stem is spot on! My husband got one for his bike as well. When it is time for a new bike this is the place that I am going to for sure.

Had an incredible experience with John in the service department. I bought my bike, a 2018 Kona Process CR153, from Kindred during the pandemic, so I had never been in the shop before. I do most of my own wrenching on my bike, so I wanted to bring it in to have it gone over by a professional mechanic to keep her in top condition.Even though they are on a 3-4 week backlog for service, John took a lot of time to find out what I was looking for and educate me on drivetrains, brakes, wheels and answered every other noob question I asked (which were many.) He noticed my brakes weren't functioning their best and suggested a professional bleed and wheel truing and was able to keep my bike and have it back to me by the end of this week despite their service back log. Despite being busy, he took the time to value me as a customer and I left knowing way more about my bike than when I went in. Very grateful.Additionally, the entire staff was smiles and you could just tell they loved what they did and actually had fun working together. I would take my Mom there to buy or service a bike! Simply top notch customer service!

My go to spot. Great people, but more importantly amazing quality of service. Ive been to maybe 4-5 other shops and always leave with either a minor or major complaint when it comes to how they serviced my bike. But can’t think of a time I’ve complained about kindred. They are typically a few dollars more expensive than other spots but if you value your time and experience on your bike you will happily pay the extra couple bucks

I recently bought a Riese and Muller Homage GT Rohloff HS Dual Battery bike at Kindred Cycles. I mainly dealt with Aaron during the whole process of test riding, ordering, and picking up my bike. Aaron was very friendly, patient, & very knowledgeable during my buying experience. I also dealt with Katharine & Alicia, they were also very friendly, patient, & helpful. I ordered my bike in the beginning of October 2022 & it was delivered at the end of January 2023. Aaron helped me a lot during those 3 plus months with answering my questions, concerns, & special requests. I live 3 plus hours north of Pittsburgh & I was worried about picking up my bike at the end of January Because I live in the snow belt area at this time of year it isn't the ideal time to be traveling with a bicycle on a rack on the back of my suv. I was worried about doing damage to my new bike with snow, ice, salt, etc. Aaron said he would store my bike still in the box until I was ready to pick it up. I really appreciate that he would do that for me, seeing that it could be weeks or months until the weather got better to pick it up. When I was able to finally pick up my bike, Aaron & his staff quickly put my bike together. The day I picked up my bike Aaron spent hours with me going over the features of the bike, setting it up with my personal preferences, test riding it to my sure it was adjusted right for me & helping me with buying accessories for it. Not once did I feel pressured to buy extra stuff or if I was asking stupid questions or trying to push me out of the door after the purchase. Aaron reached out to me a couple of days later to see how I was doing and to let me know that if needed anything to let him know. Nice to know that I wasn't just a number to them and that I felt like I would be taking care of for years to come. I can't say enough good things about my experience at Kindred Cycles. I would highly recommend them for your next bicycle purchase or for repairs or services. Darryl Case
