Nice park situated in between several of the larger downtown hotels. Seating isn't the most comfortable, but there are plenty of areas to sit,.many in the shade. There's often entertainment during the lunch hours.

I visited Pittsburgh and stayed at the Omni hotel which right across the street from this parking ramp. Unfortunately I decided to park here. For starters I drive a 4 Runner. The top of my truck hit the entrance bar overhead. So did the truck behind me. If you drive a larger vehicle DONT use this ramp. When I was leaving the machine to check my out was broken or something. I paid and pressed the button for a receipt and the machine stopped working. The lady that was working in the ramp came over and was VERY RUDE to me. She accuse me of breaking the machine saying that my credit card wasn’t taken even after it’s said approved then she said I did it too fast while the arm was still up and it wasn’t. She was literally arguing with me instead of helping me. She pressed some buttons and the machine started to work again. I had to do my transaction all over again. I REALLY BELIEVED I WAS CHARGED TWICE!! I’ll check my credit card statement and if I was I will definitely cancel it. This parking ramp needs better trained employees who aren’t rude.

Iconic Mellon Square is a beautiful urban park in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh.
It is the first Modernist park built above a parking garage, and it is a popular gathering place for locals and tourists alike.
The park is home to a variety of trees, flowers, and shrubs, as well as a number of sculptures and fountains.
Overall, Mellon Square is a well-maintained and enjoyable park. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the city scenery.

I’ve parked at Mellon Square with the Pittsburgh Parking Authority (PPA) for several years, and my experience has been a mixed bag. On one hand, Joe and Debbie from PPA are incredibly professional, courteous, and consistently helpful. They were always there to assist with any questions or concerns and made the experience as pleasant as possible.
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Karla Turzak, who handles the accounting side of things. My interactions with her were nothing short of a disaster. She’s rude, dismissive, and utterly lacking in people skills—every encounter with her was unnecessarily stressful. It's hard to understand how someone like her can be responsible for handling customer accounts.
While the parking facility itself is functional, the pricing at $255 per month feels steep, especially when factoring in the unpleasant dealings with Karla. It’s a shame because the overall experience would be much better if Joe and Debbie were the only ones you had to interact with.
In conclusion, while the parking staff on-site are great, the management side, especially accounting, leaves a lot to be desired. There’s potential here for a much better customer experience if the right changes are made.
