Riverview Park is a large, 259-acre park located between Perrysville Avenue, Woods Run, and Marshall Avenue. It features a variety of attractions and natural beauty, including wooded trails, steep hillsides, and scenic spots for relaxation. The park offers an extensive network of walking and biking trails, making it a popular place for hikers, joggers, and dog owners. There are two dog parks—one for small dogs and one for larger dogs—where pets can run and play freely. Visitors can enjoy multiple picnic areas scattered throughout the park, along with shelters and spaces available for events. The park is home to several notable landmarks, such as the Allegheny Observatory and a natural beauty called the Mairdale watershed. Recreational amenities include a swimming pool, a playground that children enjoy, and a activities building that hosts summer concerts and movies. The landscape is well maintained, clean, and pretty, providing peaceful spots to relax and enjoy nature. While Riverview Park offers impressive views and a quiet environment, some areas, like the roads, are in rough shape and require cautious driving. The scenery is pleasant but not breathtaking, and the park does not provide direct views of the river. Safety near sunset should be considered due to occasional suspicious activity. Overall, Riverview Park is well liked for its natural features and amenities, making it a nice outdoor escape within the city.
Walk past the park by the entrances and head on down the trail , keep going and going. You’ll reach the pavilion. Best sunset and sunlight I ever came across

Probably one of the best Parks I've been in. The new bridge is excellent and the park has a pool, a nature cabin and an observatory ..
