About The Clemente Museum
The Clemente Museum is an incredible piece of baseball and Pittsburgh history, housed in a converted fire station. It is a small, privately owned, nonprofit museum and a true labor of love. Tours are fantastic, with very knowledgeable, engaging, and enthusiastic guides who are fantastic storytellers. The guides keep the tour fun, interesting, and interactive, sharing many interesting stories about Roberto Clemente’s life, his baseball excellence, and his humanitarian efforts. They highlight the hurdles he overcame and answer all questions. The museum is loaded with a great set of fascinating memorabilia, with tremendous care put into the staging. There is so much to look at, and visitors could easily return to see new things. The small group tour size is excellent, allowing a relaxed pace for seeing everything and taking photos. The owner is a gracious, kind, and welcoming host. The museum also features a winery and a photography studio, adding more character to the unique space. The staff is generous and customer-focused. This is a can’t-miss experience that provides a great service to Pittsburgh and history preservation, promoting a very positive message. It is an awesome, unforgettable, and inspiring visit for anyone interested in people, stories, history, and heart, not just baseball or sports.
This is an excellent experience. Our tour guide, Vince, was a wealth of knowledge. He was personable and kept our tour fun, interesting and interactive. It was easy to book our 75-minute tour on-line. I'd strongly recommend visiting if you have any interest in Pittsburgh, baseball and/or history.
