I'm very new to biking in general, so I've never made a huge bike purchase. I did some research and found this place had a few bikes in stock in my budget and in the size i needed, so I decided to stop by.
I had a wonderful experience. I came in knowing exactly what bikes I wanted to see and try, and the seller was able to give me some insight on things, plus offer some professional advice.
I couldn't be happier with the deal I received, the customer service, and the after purchase support they offer! We will definitely purchase our bikes here going forward.

My fiancée and I brought our bikes here for tune-ups and had a fantastic experience. The staff were able to get to them very quickly and very efficient at assessing what needed to be done. Communication while bikes were being worked on was very prompt and clear. The pricing was excellent, and the service was unmatched; she and I both remarked that it may have been the best tune-up we'd ever had. We will definitely be bringing our bikes back here as often as we need maintenance. Many thanks to the team!

In middle of Pittsburgh Dirty Dozen bike race, I had a mechanical problem, that I thought was going to ruin my day, but after a short stop at Thickbikes, I was back at it! I was able to complete 11 out of 13 hills! Thanks Paul and Mitch for getting me back on the road!

This is both the most competent/knowledgeable bike shop AND the least elitist bike shop I have ever been to. Every single employee provides real-world, down to earth guidance and tips when asked. No smoke and mirrors, no gimmicks. I am pretty knowledgeable about bikes, but I always learn something new when I visit because these guys have so much real-world experience. Also, the first time I visited, the owner used my correct pronouns without me even having to ask. This is a safe space to be for transgender women. Also the music rules

I had them fix up a bike that I bought off of facebook marketplace & it rides great!
They also fit some bikes for my daughter to make sure she got the right size & made sure she was comfortable with the bike with a test ride. Great service & friendly/knowledgable staff.

I called Thick Bikes just an hour before closing hoping for a quick fix on a flat tire since I needed my bike early the next morning. From the moment I walked in, they prioritized my repair. The staff was helpful and friendly even at the end of their day. Highly recommend!

Thick Bikes is the best bike shop in the greater Pittsburgh area. Their staff is knowledgeable and professional. They know and love bikes and their prices are reasonable.
Update: this is still the best bike shop in Pittsburgh. Paul in service inspires confidence. If you love your bikes take them here for service.

Just finished a 5-day through ride on C&O/GAP from DC a few weeks ago. Used Thick Bikes to box up my bike and coordinate shipping back to New Mexico with Bikeflights. Couldn't be happier with the care they took in packing the bike, as well as the more than reasonable price. I will definitely use them the next time I visit.
