I was always a skeptic when it came to purchasing custom fit clothing. I believed my wardrobe was just fine buying things off the rack at the mall or off the internet. Until recently. I was looking for a more polished look both around the office and when out socially. I found Tom James Company when going through my linkedin contacts. What a difference quality clothes perfectly fit to my dimensions makes! I was helped by Morgan Young, who offered convenient appointments at my office or at my home. She arrived with a full catalog of options, offered her opinion on styles and color schemes that worked for me. She had a complete sampling of materials, was able to take measurements on the spot and placed an order for me to get things started. Within a few weeks, Morgan brought my new wardrobe to me and I was able to try everything on for final alterations. I was impressed with her knowledge on the way things should fit - I said a shirt looked good and she quickly said no, we should bring this in here and your sleeve should stop right here. The final shipment arrived and again, Morgan delivered my remaining clothes which fit perfectly. I look sharp, I feel stylish and I love having my new wardrobe.
I cannot say enough good things about the level of professionalism and convenience The Tom James Company provided and with Morgan as my salesperson. I highly recommend!

I didn’t intend to become a patron of Tom James; I had just stopped in to get some measurements taken for an out-of-town wedding tux rental. After mentioning that I had long been told that I should try custom shirts (because off-the-rack just doesn’t work for my frame), I was met with a simple and relaxed explanation of their options. What I had always assumed would be a time-consuming process turned out to be practically effortless.
Now only a handful of months later, I am pleased to have both custom shirts and a custom suit, all of which have gotten stellar compliments and left me wondering why I didn’t pursue custom clothing sooner. Understandably there were some adjustments to the items needed along the way, but all were handled expediently and professionally, and I am happy with the end results.
Morgan is incredibly helpful and a pleasure to work with, and I appreciate that she respects my personal style and provides guidance in a straightforward and practical way. She has been nothing but attentive, and she and the other clothiers create a welcoming atmosphere that made me look forward to talking about and getting new clothing – something that I previously didn’t care to invest much time or effort in.
Overall, I would say that if you’ve ever had an inkling to see what custom clothing is about, start here and you probably won’t need to go anywhere else.

Undoubtedly the worst experience I’ve had in years. This is my first bad review I’ve ever posted, but because of the extreme lack of customer service I feel compelled to help other customers not get into the same situation I was put in, especially women.
I ordered a custom suit from Tom James company early august, I was fitted and told the suit would be in at the end of October (3 months). The suit arrived and not only was it extremely huge on me (I’m a 5’2 Petite women) , after taking my alterations and waiting 3 months to arrive, it did not fit in any way.
When I initially put the suit on, the male employee said “ you look great”, I told him that I feel extremely uncomfortable, the pants are too big, the waste is too small, and the sleeves were significantly above by wrist, as well as the shoulder pads were sliding off my shoulders. I was not satisfied with the product at all.
I was told by the female employee (Morgan) that they typically did not work with “women”, and that “men” are much easier to work with because they don’t ask questions. This was upsetting to me, considering that statement was not only sexist but simply justifying their extremely poor customer service.
I was told the suit would either be re-made or adjusted and they were not sure how long it would take. At this time I had already missed the event that I was suppose to wear the new “custom” suit to. I had another event coming up in November, in which I was told that the suit would NOT be ready and I would have to wait until February to have the updated suit. Which would make it 7 months since I placed the order to receive the proper suit I ordered. They offered me 50% off of the $1500 suit that I ordered 7 months ago.
I would not recommend this company to anyone, especially women looking for a custom suit. They are not prepared to take care of your needs and you will
Be setting yourself up for a bad customer experience and not truly receive the product you are looking for.

Some of the best personal service I have ever received! Craig is an extremely personable and competent sales representative who knows his trade like few others. I would highly recommend using Tom James if you want a suit or any formal attire, I can't say enough of the personal service I have received to date and over the last 15 years!

This has been my third order with Grant at Tom James, and I’ve been highly satisfied with the experience and the quality of the products each time. Custom made clothes are worth every penny, especially when it comes to formal wear. Highly recommend going this route over buying a premade suit and getting it altered. The quality difference and perfect fit is very noticeable!

Grant is a gem! You will not find a more attentive, personable bespoke clothier with a fantastic sense of fashion, than him. He has pushed me to try different patterns (based on my personality and likes) and I have always been beyond happy with the results. If you are tired of everyone in the professional world continuing to wear fleece vests over a button down, I recommend a visit with Grant to make you feel excited to get dressed (think Kingsman). For the WOMEN - I personally LOVE pockets and was depressed seeing the same boring suits (navy, black, gray) in stores with shallow or non-existent pockets (what sadist thinks that would be a good idea?). I now have gorgeous suits with tons of discreet, usable pockets. GAME CHANGER. Believe me, you need Grant in your life.
