I had a very disappointing experience with White House Salon for my wedding day. When I called to book, the receptionist was extremely friendly and accommodating, assuring me that the salon was perfect for bridal parties and that they loved doing wedding hair. Based on those conversations, I felt confident moving forward. Unfortunately, the reality was very different.
I had requested a simple low slicked back bun, and I was told multiple times by the front desk that the style was so straightforward that it wouldn’t require a trial. However, on the day of, my stylist arrived late, was visibly upset, and made comments about how he couldn’t believe anyone would show up without a trial. He also seemed frustrated that he had to wash my hair, even though it still had oil in it from a facial the night before and I was told my appointment included wash and blow dry. Instead of feeling cared for, I felt like I had to cheer him up and manage his mood—an incredibly stressful and uncomfortable way to start my wedding morning.
The bun did not hold up at all. My thick hair was secured with only a small plastic elastic and a handful of bobby pins, and it completely fell apart before the reception even started. Looking back at my wedding photos, it’s clear my hair was coming undone throughout the day, which was heartbreaking. It felt intentional how poorly my hair was done.
My bridal party also had issues. My maid of honors wanted simple blowouts. However, they had to completely redo their hair when they left. My mom waited over an hour past her appointment time earlier that morning. And my sister-in-law, who arrived 20 minutes late for her one-hour appointment (just wanting loose curls), was turned away entirely—even though my mom’s appointment ran an hour late. The scheduling felt unprofessional, poorly organized, and inconsistent.
I was quoted a lower price over the phone than what I was charged in person (though they did adjust it to the price originally stated).
This was a huge shock given how much I had communicated with the salon leading up to the wedding. I spoke with them multiple times while booking and again the day before, yet on the actual day, there was miscommunication, disorganization, and a lack of professionalism across the board. And despite me calling after the wedding to speak with a manager privately, no one ever returned my call.
At the end of the day, no one's hair looked professionally done and no one was happy with their experience or service.
What should have been a joyful and pampering experience turned out to be stressful and disappointing. I would not recommend this salon for bridal services.

Went to White House Salon for the first time.
Jolene was so helpful and very informative about everything the salon had to offer. I had a great haircut and shampoo! The space is luxurious, clean, and a very calming area.

I had a great experience here. I’d always go to a barber shop before, but felt like i was in and out with a cut I half liked. These stylists take their time, ask me exactly what I want, and gave me a luxurious experience I never knew I could get! I love my hair:)

DeAndre Stevenson, is “the hair guru.” Before I met him, my hair would shed profusely, so much so that I was terrified to brush it.
By the second appointment, the shedding stopped, and my hair started to flourish. I can only attribute that to his knowledge of the following: products, techniques, and the science behind hair itself.
While DeAndre knows what to do ti the hair, he knows how to treat and pamper the client. He doesn’t treat you like a product on the assembly line. To that end, I enjoy each visit because each one consists of a consultation that is specific to the service for that day. At that time, he addresses concerns or issues.
I was always apprehensive about getting color, but he assured me it would work out. I started out with highlights and graduated to blonde. The color he chose worked well with my complexion, without any hair loss.
If you give DeAndre a try, you won’t be disappointed. He is not scissor happy!

Super considerate staff! Matt explained my cut very well and I appreciated his positive attitude and suggestions on how to make my hair look its best! The only set backs were cost as there were no products/heat protectant used on my hair prior to being blown dry and I do not believe conditioner was used while shampooing as there was only one round of rinsing. Maybe this was a one time thing, but I hadn't had that happen to me before at other salons.

I LOVE this place. This is my second time getting a balayage here and both times were amazing & exactly what I was looking for. I was going for something subtle and they nailed it. My stylist Layla was INCREDIBLE. As someone who doesn't get my hair done often, Layla walked me through every step and did an amazing job, while also b. The vibe and environment is incredible, everyone is so nice and welcoming. Full balayage at $190 - an extremely reasonable price for an incredible job and the best time. I'm moving out of Pittsburgh soon but honestly will be making trips back to get my hair done here.

I am pleased with the results of my first haircut at Whitehouse Salon! Layla was attentive to detail and very professional. I did not have to wait at all, the appointment went by quickly, and I liked the smell of the products.

Excellent salon, if a bit expensive. I'm new from DC, and this place is a bit pricier than there. I was quite surprised. That said, the stylists I've seen are excellent. First, I chose Myra, because so many said she was good w/ difficult hair (that's me - crazy thick hair). She was great, BUT - they didn't tell me when I first booked the appt that she was about to move Florida! (Grr) But she recommended Flo (co-owner, I think?) to me, and I'm super happy so far. He does balayage - which new to me. I've always done foils. So far, so good - and you don't have to go back so frequently. He also gives a great haircut. The salon is clean, stylish, and the folks there are friendly. I'm definitely happy.

Kind of cramped. Clean brightly lit room. Place for coats. Offered water. Quality of cut was average. My hairstylist was friendly and respectful of my time.

Darius did an incredible job with my hair! I went to him for both a haircut and balayage, and both times he did an amazing job. He listened to what I wanted and really delivered. He's also so kind. Will go back again!!! He deserves a raise!!!
