This hotel is in an absolutely fantastic location. Close to everything and easy to get to and the front desk staff couldn’t be more friendly. My husband and I have stayed here many, many times throughout the years and unfortunately, it has become one of the dirtiest places. Literally the room we just stayed in last night has not been maintained or deep cleaned in years. Everything seems to be broken, filthy or peeling. There was actual dried vomit all over the wall behind the toilet. The toilet itself had absolutely not been cleaned. The duvet cover was dirty. Ladybugs everywhere. I couldn’t get in touch with anyone last night due to them being insanely busy with Light Up Night and the Dance Competition. The sheets seemed clean so we stayed due to it being so late but we are very disappointed and completely grossed out.

Attended a conference here and enjoyed my stay. Spacious, comfortable, and clean rooms.. had a luxury feel to it. I was on the 19th floor and had great views out my window! Great location in the heart of the river area.

Great location however, rooms are small, wall covered in cobwebs and dust from air ventWhich was mildewed. Walls are paper thin. At 6am neighbor was on the phone arguing with his credit card company. We heard every word. The elevator button panels were disgusting! They most likely havent been cleaned in months. Liked Pittsburgh, just not the hotel.

To sum this experience up for you, staying here is like “Death by a thousand cuts”. There isn’t just one really bad thing, there are just so so many things wrong. We were really excited to go home.First night, we had a taco bed. Great if you like rolling into your partner. Not great if you want to sleep or get out of the bed. But you do you and roll the dice here guys.Second night, they moved us to another floor with a normal cheap mattress. Both nights, the rooms are loud…there is a gap under the door and the hallways noise is clearly heard. Also, good luck to you if your next to a barking dog. That’s a special treat! Just bring earplugs while traveling guys. The elevators are small and nearly always packed. There are stairs but when we went through them they were full of bagged trash, which sort of seemed like a fire hazard to me. I reported this to their service team but no one replied. Which was pretty standard here. Front desk staff did not answer when we called and valet never answered the phone. It was cute how they send you a text asking about your stay but don’t bother to respond. That basically tells me that management here is non existent and/or the service levels we experienced are the norm.Anyways, survive the elevators and you’ll be greeted with a dated room with worn bedding. I’m pretty sure we had 4 travel sized pillows on on our king sized bed. There was black mold in the shower and the bathroom door stuck closed so hard that I thought I was going to be trapped in there and had to call for help. I had a keurig in the room, praise the tacos, but lord help me they had 6 pods of decaf in the room and no regular coffee. Who does that? It was basically cruel and unusual after sleeping with 1/2 a pillow.Good things: Location is nice and there is a nice view from higher up rooms. Soft fluffy towels and the cleaning people were super friendly! Promote them to management!Nearby activities: Many sporting events nearbyWalkability: Very walkable.

This hotel looks great from the outside and in the lobby and the ballroom. However, once you get to the rooms, they are terrible. Wallpaper peeling off the walls in the hallways and in the rooms. The beds are uncomfortable. The shower had Mold and mildew in the cracks and crevices. The water smells like fish. The floors on the hallways and in front of the elevators are always dirty. The cost of the rooms didn't match the quality of the rooms. The breakfast at the restaurant was 19 dollars and Mcdonald's has better food. The prices for drinks at the bar were double what they should have been. Overall, it was just a horrible place to stay and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone for any reason. Staying at a comfort Inn, is a better experience.

We just spent a week at the Wyndham and had a Grand time. No peeling wall paper, no worn carpet, no noise through the walls, no problem getting an elevator. We were in a king room with the river view. Excellent bed. The room had both a small microwave and a small fridge. There must be renovated and un-renovated rooms. If you get a room with problems, request another. The hotel is huge and, especially with the recent reviews, I doubt it’s ever full. Our only complaint is that it’s several blocks to the nearest convenience store for breakfast supplies. But really, great stay—and reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area with anything like that view.

I read the reviews on this hotel and was very concerned. I am glad we decided to book as we had a great stay and the hotel was very convenient to the stadium and midtown. Our room was very clean, beds were comfy and the river view on the top floor was amazing. We had a king room with a fridge and microwave and no issues. The service was exceptional and every employee we encountered was awesome.Walkability: Downtown is a about a seven minute walk and the stadium is about a 15 minute walk. There is also a city bus that stops at the airport that stops right in front of the hotel.

For over $600 for 3 nights, the mold in the shower was unacceptable. The room was tiny, definitely not like the picture I saw when I booked the room. I liked that it was downtown but then again, there's other hotels in the area I'll stay at the next time. There are NO snack or drink machines either! That's so weird? They want u to wait for that little Starbucks to open up so u can pay $8 for a drink.

Was I. Town for the Steelers game, perfect location downtown to walk to the game. Room was great, customer service was awesome. Very busy during home weekends for Steelers, which is perfect. The bar/restaurant was a little overwhelmed after the game, but they were awesome.

Before the trip I read several negative reviews about the Wyndham grand Pittsburgh related, primarily to the conditions of the room and the attitude of the staff. I almost cancelled the reservation, but did not. When we arrived and checked in the front desk, staff in the baggage check people were all friendly and courteous even though there was a large crowd all checking in at the same time. Our room wasn’t quite ready yet, as the housekeeping supervisor had not yet checked the room. After short wait we got into the room. While the wallpaper was dated, the room itself was clean and well stocked with pillows and linen. We even had a bar fridge, which was not on the list of amenities. Apparently not all rooms have a fridge, so it isn’t listed as being there. The comments about hearing noise from the next-door room did apply to our room, the sound leaks through the adjoining door. Luckily, our neighbours went to sleep about the same time we did. If we ever return to Pittsburgh, we would certainly consider staying at the Wyndham grand again.Rooms: The room was smallish, but well equipped. Neat and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The view was amazing.

We were their for a wedding otherwise I would have changed hotels. Avoid this one at all costs! I was excited when we got there, the lobby looked so nice and the staff was wonderful, and food was good which is the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of one. I would have given it negative stars if I could. The lobby and ballroom is where the niceties stop. Once we got up to our room, it was another story. The furniture was chipped and worn down, the sliding door to the bathroom was heavy and noisy, bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, everything was old and very outdated. The worst part was the bathroom, it was so dirty and gross, not sure the last time it was cleaned! The bottom of the glass was moldy, mold was also on the inside tiles, the showerhead was dirty and full of lime scale, just what you want when traveling with a toddler. My parents were in the connecting room and there was long black hairs in the bathtub and on the walls. It was nasty. I did complain and they offered to clean or move us. Since we already unpacked after a long flight I opted for clean, which they did do promptly. Do yourself a favor and find another hotel to stay at downtown.Rooms: Dirty and outdated

This hotel has an awesome view of the three rivers, but it is run down and neglected. The food is average to bad, the rooms are old, dirty and neglected. We did not venture out after dark because we did not feel safe. The meeting rooms are nice though and the temperature was perfect. The hotel does not look like the pictures on the website.

The location is great if you want to walk around downtown! The staff was also very professional nice. The rooms are in DESPERATE need of a deep clean and some updating. There are always some noise at hotels but the walls are really paper thin and you can hear your neighbors on every side. There was mold in the shower and the room really looked like it hadn’t been dusted in a week. Disappointed in the room, especially for the price.Food & drinks: The food at the restaurant was very bland and nothing spectacular.

Would not recommend. The rooms smelled of mildew and wallpaper was peeling off walls. There was a dead bug in my bed so asked to be moved and my new room had old pink peeled nail polish on the floor. The staff was really nice and helpful it’s just a shame the place was not clean or comfortable. I will not stay here again.

Staff is great, hotel needs serious renovation. Mold and dust in many rooms and needs updated bathroom fixtures as well as the phones in each room.
