This is the most unprofessional scam of a store I could ever imagine, and I hope my story steers you clear of having the same experience as me.
Needed an upgrade from my old phone. So I bought a $600 iPhone 16e and was somehow charged $850 out the door. The agent said that it was due to activation charges, but I was not given an itemized receipt. Spoke with Metro customer service after leaving and they said to go back and speak with a manager because an activation charge should’t be more than 50 bucks. When I went back in, I was told that the phone was part of a promotion and I could have a speaker when they came in if I came back. When I said I didn’t want a speaker (the phone was at full price so it couldn’t be part of a promotion anyway), the agent pulled a couple of twenties from the drawer and said that he could provide this as a refund. I said that would be fine as long as I got an itemized receipt. He said he couldn’t do a receipt but would “show it to me.” He pulled out his phone calculator and started to try to explain how they came to the number (this includes 15% in taxes, a $35 new phone fee, a $30 activation fee, 3% credit card surcharge, $50 screen protector I didn’t ask for in the first place, etc.) After this, no additional explanation was given and no receipt was ever given.
Long story short, the experience was awful. Metro is not a great phone service, but this store is even worse. Please, if you need to get a new device, drive a few minutes down the road to another store and don’t give these people your money.

Edited to add: the manager below contacted me and made this right. Thank you, up a few stars. Wish it didn't take a bad review to get a resolution (I asked inside for a way to avoid the fee and the rep from customer service hung up on me when I asked but they're not the store.)Original review: I was charged a bogus $50 "activation fee" just to move my SIM card from one phone to another. I explained that I've never had to pay one and that $50 is way too high to move a sim, they told me it used to be $25 but they raised it. Doubling a fee isn't normal inflation. I later discovered that I've never paid it because it's FREE online. I thought my sim was malfunctioning which was why I went in.Her system was down so I had to patiently wait FOREVER just to have her do something I could have done myself FOR FREE in minutes. She could have said hey so you don't have to wait here an hour, your sim is fine and you can just go online and activate it for free. But no she had me sit there forever, did not inform me of the fee ahead of time, and then sprung it on me right at the end.If you want to get ripped off by a store with a broken system, sign up here. $50 to waste your time.

I have been extremely upset for 9 MONTHS NOW. I am a driver and I explained this to the guy working there (Jordan) who sells me a phone that IS NOT compatible with Android Auto OR my Car!!! Why would you sell a driver a phone they can't even use for work? Yes there are people working here that just don't care at all nor do they know what they are doing !

This is the second place I've gone to this location and waited to for 10a opening hour. Like last time no one was there to open the store. As a business owner this is very disappointing! I waited until 10:10a, no one came to open or unlocked the door.I was there ready to purchase a new phone for my son. This store completely lost out on my business. Not opening on time is bad business in my book.

A big THANK YOU to the young lady working on Thursday morning. I was desperately in need of an upgrade after my former handset was crashing/running slow. She was VERY helpful-patient - took time to answer all the intricate questions. Will definitely be coming back next time I need service/upgrades. Excellent all the way around !
