Nice little convenient shop in the middle of nowhere but close to lake nockamixon. Very nice and friendly staff. They have minnows here and sandwiches and snacks and drinks and cigarettes! I love to support the local businesses that are smaller.

Cruzin’ through Quakertown on Old Bethlehem Pike, trying to meet up with an older mentor who lives “the quiet, clean country living” that all city folk aspire to… someday. Came across The Mountain Store, with a large open parking area, inviting sign, and with the gentle open quiet countryside air, why not venture in to see the wares being offered? It’s not like this kind of place is ubiquitous back in the DC Beltway chaos. Certainly not!To be fair, the sweet lil clerk did apologize for The Mountain Store (being named after Haycock Mountain), seeing as it is a misnomer, given the mountain, to her, is a mere hill. Why?! She comes from upstate, y’all’s! And THAT there means mountains! No ands, ifs, or buts on that! Trust me, peeps… do NOT mess with a woman who can bake a blueberry crumb pie that’ll melt in your mouth, illuminate your palate divinely, and bring you to tears! (Like it dang well did for me! How could a driver go on again with that taste of sweet blueberry? I found the strength. Timidly so.)My mentor visit? Uhhhh well… never did locate that old mentor anyways that occasion. Of course, now it don’t matter much, because that just means another trip up there is imminent. And for another blueberry crumb pie? Gas prices cannot be too high to prevent a thirsty truck like mine from venturing again!Enjoy the Quakertown rounds y’all! ☮️✝️?
