Abilities in Motion or AIM has the best staff. I myself am disabled and found myself looking for assistance in the community. I typed in 'Disability' into Google, and this great organization popped up. I decided to pick up the phone and call. It was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. I was nervous at first, but they quickly showed me that they cared. I was able to sit down with a few of their employees, and they made me feel so supported. I didn't feel alone in my experience. With their support I felt a part of a community.
They have a cafe that is sensory friendly with things like low lighting, no loud tvs, and more! It is called Rollie's Place, and they just started cantering! The building it's self has color inside, and it has motion sensor opening doors.
The advocate that is helping me is so kind, and her heart is in the right place. I congratulate an administration that is able to find employees that are there to be a support and a light at the end of what can seem like a long tunnel.
I highly recommend picking up the phone and making an appointment today if you have a disability and are looking for support or services!

I worked with abilities in motion back in 2015 and I worked with one of the staffs to help me with independent living skills but now I don't feel like working with them anymore because they haven't teach me how to cross the street, how to take public transportation, how to drive a car, they haven't teach me how to be safe at home and in the community, they haven't teach me anything about all of that especially when I decided to go to college, they literally just denied me. so that's the reason that I will not work with them. I'm done with abilities in motion.

They do not help the old, handicap or disabled. They t take advantage of them. They have these young workers that are insensitive and uncaring. They or their supervisors do not return your calls. They all need to be trained and to remember you treat those the way you want to be treated. I would advise no one to send their love ones there.
