I asked Amerigas to help with increasing the pressure of my gas. The technician came when I wasn't home and changed the regulator. I then got a bill after the fact for $463, even though at the time I did not consent to any of the work the tech did and was not told ANYTHING about the cost to me. I do not own the tank and had no idea I would be responsible for this cost since I did not pay for another service before this and I literally just moved in a few weeks ago. I then found out that about $3/4 of this cost was just for LABOR, the part itself was only about $100. They were not at all willing to negotiate this. They also said changing the regulator was required to increase the gas pressure, but the tech made it out like he was just doing me a favor by changing it. Extremely disappointed about the lack of transparency and ridiculous cost of services since it probably took the tech 30 min or less to do the work. Everyone was nice when they talked to me but still makes me feel like I was completely taken advantage of in this situation and there's nothing I can do about it.

Its unfortunate that Google's rating system does not give you a "0" star option. I have called Amerigas 12 times over the course of a week and contacted them through their website 2 times, yet my very simple problem still is not solved. My wife and I recently bought a home with a generator and 500 gallon propane tank. The previous owner let us know that we own the tank (not leased), that the owner prior to him bought it, and that we would need to contact Amerigas to obtain proof of ownership. In every one of my calls to Amerigas, I just get ping-ponged back and forth between sales and customer service. I have been given a verbal confirmation over the phone multiple times that, in fact, I do own the propane tank but nobody can figure out how to give me any written proof. I was told twice I would get a call back and did not. I was told once that I would be emailed a written confirmation that I own the tank but never received an email. If I can be verbally told that I own the tank, why is it so hard to put it in writing or to send me a past bill of sale? I am unable to purchase propane without proof of ownership, and I refuse to purchase from the unorganized, mismanaged, pathetic company that Amerigas is. Thanks Amerigas for making it impossible to obtain propane for my home, rendering my generator useless.

This company is complete garbage. Was lied to multiple times by NON AMERICAN customer service reps. Told me the billing issue was taken care of. Sent me to collections for 194 dollars. Screwed up my credit history.

I am very dissapointed with my experience with Amerigas. They showed up to our office without telling us, filled our tank up and charged us $5.65 a gallon when propane is $3.33 in Northern VA. after many calls they negotiated and lowered their bill by 10 cents a gallon. Do yourself a favor and call any other gas company, but them.

These guys snuck into my backyard without an appointment, a letter, a knock on the front door. Nothing. Apparently the account had been closed, but they did bother to tell me or ask if i wanted to renew it. They just came and unhooked my full tank of propane. I tried calling to see what was going on and asked if I would at least be reimbursed for the propane they took from me and got hung up on. Luckily it wasnt too cold of a night, bc my wife, two young daughters and I were not prepared to lose our heat unexpectedly. No notice whatsoever. Its a good thing I wasn’t home while they took my tank because there would probably be some blood on my hands. Terrible service.

Overall my experience has been ok. However, the call center is really bad. I called and could not even hear the other person on the phone. Then called again and got somemone different - still loud but could at least hear. Was trying to use a promo code and it became obvious the language barrier was not going to work out favorably. I ended up using the chat function and got it worked out but it should not have been that hard.

Horrible, corrupt upper management. Stay away!! We were lied to so many times regarding the date of delivery. Then we were charged a $300 emergency delivery that we never received!!! When they finally gave us the $300 back they took it back out of my account and are constantly sending me bills for this $300 service I never received a drop of propane for!!! Don’t give them your credit card!!!!!!

Horrible, corrupt upper management. Stay away!! We were lied to so many times regarding the date of delivery. Then we were charged a $300 emergency delivery that we never received!!! When they finally gave us the $300 back they took it back out of my account and are constantly sending me bills for this $300 service I never received a drop of propane for!!! This company sent someone out on a fill call that I didn't authorize to my house. The guy rang my doorbell, walked around, and left. I have this on camera. They charged me $308 for propane they didn't give me. My tanks were at the exact same percentage as before he came.I called to resolve the issue and the call center is in a place where they speak very poor English and communicating is nearly impossible. They then proceeded to put me on hold numerous times and lie to me in every way possible, including telling me my wife authorized the service and she did not. I asked to speak to a supervisor and got hung up on 2 times. I had to call back and explain the same thing 2 more times.2 hours later I finally reached a supervisor and he basically bounced the whole thing to another department and told me I would receive a call about the issue. I was never called.They blatently stole from me. Unbelievable.

Terrible service, I spoke with a “supervisor” named Tim and he was rude, not helpful, and when I asked for his name his response was, “Ohh I can’t give you that information.” I said you can’t give me your name? And he responded with an attitude, “Tim.”
