I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while but let me say the one worker here is phenomenal. I believe her name was samantha but I could be totally wrong. This girl went absolutely above and beyond for me. Let me start from the beginning. So I was supposed to go enterprise but my gps brought me to hertz. As a girl who knows nothing about this stuff, I didn’t think anything of it. I then noticed they were closed but Sam came out to me and asked if I needed help. I explained the situation and even tho she could have gone home, she decided to stay and help me as she could tell I was a lost young girl lol. Now enterprise was set up for my rental but I decided to just use hertz as she said it would be a quick change. She then called them and even the insurance companies for me to get them to switch cuz I did not know the claim number but she went above and beyond to figure it out for me. All through this, again when she could have went home for the day, kept the most positive and nice attitude all while going above and beyond for me. I am so happy I accidentally showed up at hertz instead. You guys have gained a customer for life now. I will forever be grateful for her.
Edit: after reading other reviews maybe it was Stephanie, I just know it was a S name and she was absolutely wonderful

I recently rented a car for the day to drive to New York. Everything went great. Often times rental car companies get a bad rap because there are a bunch of policies they must follow, and we don't know what those are until it affects us. If it doesn't go our way we tend to take it out on the people. Stephanie and Katherine were wonderful. The minor issue I had on the road was not their fault, but Stephanie was able to offer a solution in real time. We should remember that it's the people that make for a great experience. I hope whoever is in charge of raises or bonuses remembers that when it comes to these two.

I've rented through Hertz several times, and each time I've been overcharge in some way. Last time, they didn't check the car when I returned it, they waited a few hours, which I was then charged for. They also charged for adding my spouse, ($13/ day) even though I am a gold member. This time, I rented a midsize SUV, that I prepaid for. When picking up, the agent said we don't have the car you rented, how about a Durango. We said sure, and that was it. Come drop off time, we were charged an extra $20/ day, as it was an upgrade. Not once did the agent say a thing about this, he literally just said how about a Durango. I called the local office and no one answers the phone, so I called customer support, where I was told they won't change the price. I didn't ask for the Durango, they didn't have the car I rented, how is that my fault? If I was told they didn't have what I rented and a replacement would end up costing over $100 more, I would have said no thanks and went to enterprise. I will never rent through Hertz again. What a scammy way to do business.

Great and very friendly team at Reading Hertz. I was in a bind with a broken down car and struggling to get through to AAA. Josh went over and beyond to help me get back on the road with a rental car for an affordable price. Best rental shop I’ve been to in the US (and I’ve been to a lot!). Thanks!

I gave 4 stars because hertz systems do NOT take chime or cashapp cards for incidentals deposit. Not a stab at the staff at this location. They were super helpful and accommodating to the best of their ability. They deserve 5 stars and more. It's their system that dinged that 5th star.

Josh and the lady on the front desk, are very friendly and professional. I have rented a several times through Uber, and they make difference from the others Uber locations. They do the process in very professional and easy way.

So I brought a customer here to pick up her rental car. When she went in, she gave them her credit card. At that point, she was informed that she didn't have enough available on her credit card for them to rent her a car. Why was she not informed of these charge amounts on the phone. She was able to make the reservation, pay for the extra insurance, and drive out here. Then told, "Sorry, oh not sorry, we can't rent you the car". Due to their lack of communication. Terrible place.

Our reservation confirmation indicated what our "total due at counter" would be. The associate insisted that the price we had to pay was actually higher "because there are more taxes" - even though taxes were also shown on our confirmation. There was no further explanation or "let me see what the issue could be". She couldn't care less about resolving the cost issue and wanted to focus more on the upsells. She began by telling us that our car wasn't available but we could upgrade. After we declined multiple times, she then exclaimed that she "did" have our car available, but it isn't "brand new". Another slimey way to get us to spendmore.Additionally, no rental details were discussed, such as confirming "you are shown to be returning the car on X date and time" nor do they explain that the credit card holder must also be the driver.You can add a spouse as a driver for free, but only if you are a "rewards member". If you are not, there is a daily fee. Of course, they do not tell you that the rewards program is FREE and takes mere minutes to sign up online, something you could do standing right in front of them. It's a truly deceptive practice and just another way to squeeze more money out of you.Of course when voicing any of the above, the associate reacted as though "I" was the one at fault and being rude. With the lack of transparency, pushing of more fees, and lack of caring about "why" the total was not matching, this location clearly puts profit and commission first...and customer service somewhere towards the bottom.Even more shocking, I later learned that the woman I dealt with was the manager. What a person to be the face of this company. This didn't have to be a stressful experience, yet it was entirely. Hertz is definitely off my rental list for good.

Huge 5 stars to Stephanie for her outstanding customer service. Not only in solving my problems, but also in her genuine caring nature and truly wanting to help the best that she could. Stephanie embodies what customer service should be.
