Safe Berks helped my ex send me to jail and ruin my reputation. He "said" I broke his neck!! I was in bed with MRSA in a surgical area, could prove it, was arrested the day after I left the nursing home! I called Safe Berks once, because I was in desperate need of help, was treated with rudeness and gross disrespect. But his "girls" from Safe Berks were at every court hearing. You are a shame to your mission. You were fooled by him, just like I was, except I was disabled!

Gave a 1 star because I could not do less. They are unprofessional, disorganized, dirty, and the staff go in power trips and take advantage of the situations of these women that need the help to kick them out at night in the rain. Research other places but Safe Berks is a joke that don’t care about anyones situations. I have seen shelters treat dogs better than this place. I’m so sorry for the women here having to deal with this mess of a place!

I love this place. It not only provides shelter to victims of domestic violence, but it also offers support groups, legal support, resource coordination, counseling and much more. They empower all those struggling and guide them to find a way out of pain to independence. I so grateful to Maria and to all the team who go the extra mile to assist the served population. Many blessings to all.

If your looking to feel and be safe, research other places. Me being an abused woman with children’s in here was the worse experience I had to go through in a Shelter. HR or administration do not solve a concern or a problem. You have to begged basically, to get anything. No back ground checks, be aware if you got children. Mentally exhausting being here. Fundings never available for the clients in need.

The people here are very friendly, and they put you at ease. Safe Berks was recommended by my doctor in Lancaster after my husband and I moved to Oley. I needed to see someone who was "trauma-informed", and the lady I saw was terrific. She went on to pursue an even higher degree of education, and I just called to make an appointment with someone else. Oh: when you call, expect to leave a message. They return the calls to make appointments and what-not. (It IS a safe house, after all) Not sure if they only take women; If I recall correctly, men are also able to receive counseling. They also have a legal department to help clients! Please call to find out for sure.

Very supportive to women needs. A safe alternative from violence. Counseling services and more to all. They lend a voice to those in need.
