The training information was really informative and easy to comprehend. My instructor Eric explained everything well and answered all my questions. Once we got into the range, he spotted my errors and helped me correct them. Really great training course!!!!

I have been shooting at Sensibly Armed for the past 2 years and cannot imagine myself shooting at any other indoor range. My experience started over 2 years ago when I felt it was time to add a layer of protection for myself and family, but I had a lot of questions. I walked into the shop on a Sunday morning and was warmly greeted by a gentleman named Andy. He took the time to answer all of my questions and gave me the best advice of my life; take a class and learn how to shoot safely. I took that class at Sensibly Armed and I can see why that advice was given. I learned the proper way to handle a handgun safely and how to fire it safely. The staff there knows what they are talking about and have never even tried to be pushy to make a sale. I purchased my first handgun there and I am glad that I did. I am there once a week, every week and have seen the same staff almost every time. Of course staff changes, it changes at every business but some of the reviews posted are simply ludicrous. I have witnessed their interactions with many other customers and have NEVER EVER witnessed any behavior other than that of professionals who know their business and are first and foremost interested in safety. I would highly recommend Sensibly Armed to anyone interested in taking up shooting or is already a shooter and looking to make a purchase. They may be slightly higher priced than larger stores, Like Cabelas, but you absolutely get what you pay for. I have never regretted walking into Sensibly Armed that Sunday morning. I do not generally post reviews like this, but when I happened to read some of the negative comments, I knew that I had to try to set the record straight.

Staff are unhelpful and make me uncomfortable. One of the staff continuously tried to sell me one of his sights after telling him no the first two times. Everything is overpriced. They talk down on people as if we don't know anything about guns. The range is the worse part. If you shoot more than one bullet per minute they come out and tell you to slow down. This place isn't serious about training or self defense for that matter. Zero stars.Emphasis on one round PER MINUTE (which is NOT rapid fire, they tell you to slow down). If you are trying to practice your Mozambique Drill for example, go elsewhere. Read all the other one star reviews. This owner is driving his business to the ground and I can’t wait to see it go down.If anyone is serious about training there is a range in sinking springs. It’s a bit out of the way but legitimately everything is better there.

My favorite indoor range. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent selection of concealed carry pistols and accessories. Prices are very good on most firearms, and cheap transfers. Membership pays for itself if you go only twice a month. My only complaints would be high ammunition prices and the range clientele showing lackluster respect for the range rules. While I may gripe about ammunition costs, they do allow you to bring outside ammunition including hand loads which is nicety a lot of other ranges will bend you over the table for. I still do tend to buy a box of ammo every now and then if I’m running out of what I brought. As for range rules, please fellow shooters obey them. There’s no need to unholster a weapon in the shop, period. I’ve seen reviews of people complaining about being scolded for drawing their weapons, and this is a lack of judgement on the reviewers part. I’m sure they would be equally unhappy if someone pulled a weapon in their place of business. Common sense folks. Do yourself a favor and at least check them out.

I was on my way home from Philly when my teenage son called in a panic. My two dogs got in a fight with an adult groundhog. The one dog suffered a few bites while the groundhog was left badly injured. My first thought was to secure the dogs(keep them indoors) next, to put the groundhog out of its misery as well as prevent further harm. I meant to restock on bullets prior but haven't gotten around to it. With that being said, I pulled into the closest gun range(the only one I ever fired my gun at), Sensibly Armed on Perkiomen Ave, Reading. The 'manager' suggested a specific type of bullet but after seeing the price, I asked about the standard bullet(the only bullet I knew of) he immediately became confrontational because I was questioning the difference and wondering why I couldn't just purchase the 50 bullets vs 20 for the same price. Not to make it about the money, I was not opposed to being educated, but when he said if I sell you these bullets(the 50 pk) & find out you did not succeed in ending the groundhog's life, I will track you down and beat you! (there was no humor in his voice or his demeanor) I believe he may suffer from a specific complex often referred to as 'The Napoleon Complex' My defensive response was, "yeah good luck". His response, "it will be easy" Needless to say I did not make a purchase!! FYI: The store was very busy, lots of staff and customers. Not one person came to my defense. Not that I needed one but REALLY?

I came into the gun shop for my first handgun and told them about it being my problem and that I was looking for an edc pistol. The guy at the shop said I had unrealistic expectations. I will definitely not be doing any business there and I would highly recommend if you are a gun buyer, new or experienced, to take your business and money elsewhere

DON’T RECOMMENDAs a beginning shooter with my boyfriend, being license to carry, I thought it would be a wonderful date for us to stop by here, and I can learn. I shoot the gun one time and the gentleman tells me I shot at the ceiling, even though I had the gun pointed straight and hit the target there was proof. He advised he could check the cameras, but when he went to check the cameras, there was no proof at all. Not to mention when I first got there he kept saying that I smelled like marijuana, even though I just clocked out of a 9 to 330 shift. They advised that they service many Hispanic, as well as blacks, but I do feel as though they are extremely racist. I am not welcome there anymore because they advised that I would have to pay $100 for a late but I did not hit because I did not hit the ceiling. The bullets did show on the guide as well that I shot the guide not the ceiling. I was interested in taking the tactical courses and everything but I highly do not recommend this place.
