This was my first training experience, and I will be continuing to train with this company. Instructor was very capable, very clear, and made sure before we even stepped on the range to see who had life-saving gear and was trained with it, establishing an emergency plan before anything even went click. I've read in other places since about establishing this as common practice, but it was the first time I ever saw it in action, and it was pretty great. I trained in plates, with a pistol carbine, and didn't feel at any point like having a different rifle from everyone else was any sort of issue. The instructor actually pointed it out as something worth training with, considering ammo and parts availability and portability. He also took into account differences in the class, like how certain things have to be done differently when you're much shorter and lighter than everyone else, like my wife, who took the same class that I did.All in all, great training experience. We took TSR-101, and we're looking forward to the next time TSR-102 comes up on the calendar, along with some of the medical classes and the very interesting shotgun course.

Dave was absolutely amazing! Definately the best instructor I've had ( and I've had a bunch).He really tailors his teaching to every student. He made sure to ask me how i learn best and when i said visually he made sure to demonstrate every step in an easy to understand manner.He also pays attention the the unique needs of his students.For example i am a tiny woman with probably kid sized hands. He made sure to show me how to use techniques that would work for my smaller hands which was hugely appreciated as many instructors just gloss over those kind of things.During the class i was having some trouble keeping my rifle up at times and i got discouraged but he pointed out to me that even the big guys arms were shaking at times and this really made me feel better and caused me to actually do better because i wasn't up in my head.His instructions are always clear and easy to understand.Another cool thing he does is before class he gets everyone's medical training background and assigns jobs in case of a range emergency that way if on the highly unlikely chance something were to happen everyone already knows the plan ahead of time.He is incredibly knowledgeable and takes his own training seriously. He makes sure he himself is always learning so he can give his students the best information.Hile is a very respectful and dedicated instructor and i can't wait to have more classes with him!

I’ve trained and taken classes with Civilian Defense Concepts for nearly a year and I can’t recommend the CDC team enough. Dave Chang is an extremely knowledgeable instructor with broad expertise in both the firearm and medical realms. He also has excellent range with people, whether he’s explaining tough technical concepts to first-timers (using his funny and catchy “Chang-isms” for quick understanding) or commanding a group of 12 experienced shooters through a 3-hour rifle class. I first reached out to Dave because of his excellent online reviews and I am happy to add another - seriously, look no further than CDC and their superior services!

This experience was fantastic. David has a lifetime of real world, hands on experience with medical, firearms, training, etc. He is incredibly knowledgable and good and teaching that to others, and safety always comes first. I will be taking more classes with him in the future and highly recommend anybody else considering it do the same.

I gave David 5 stars because i thought the class was great. David is very knowledgeable about guns and gun laws. i learned alot in the class. i was able to ask questions and get great information back,,He is very articulate teacher ,able to break down the information so that a notice can understand and learn.Im planning on taking another class with David, CCW for another state.Because i feel comfortable working with him im going take shooting instructional classes alsoIf your looking for a teacher that is always learning himself,( always taking continuing ed classes to further his craft ) then this might be a good fit for you to..

Took first aid class with Dave. This was my first ever crp class. I have learned a ton due to Dave's attention to detail, and inpiration with which he taught the class and the real life examples he had provided.

David is a very knowledgeable and experienced instructor who will teach you how to handle firearms safely and practically. He works with the students to understand their current level of knowledge and teaches them to advance at their own pace. I took a safety course 101 with David at King Shooters Supply. David guided me through a target practice for an hour was able to try a variety of guns to get a feel for what I like and I don't like. I highly recommend his class, especially if you're a new to handling a defensive firearm.

Very knowledgeable. Learned a lot in the First Aid/CPR/AED and Bleed Control class. Came out far more confident and knowledgeable than when I went in. I would recommend adding the IFAK class if available. Will definitely be attending more classes.

I took a beginner class with David. He's very experienced and was able to answer everyone's questions in the class about all kinds of topics relating to firearms and safety. He also has some interesting stories to relate to the topics he goes over. Recommended!

Best firearms instructor. Being a smaller woman it was hard to find someone who could understand what I needed and why. Also learning with Dave gives you much more than firearms knowledge. He is a wealth of knowledge.

I have trained with CDC for 3 years now, starting with hand gun, then long gun, and most recently advanced bleeding, and AED. It has been a great and knowledgeable experience, and I will continued my training in the future.
