Horrible experience.
My entire family has been with the YMCA for years, and I’ve visited many larger locations without ever having an issue bringing a guest or using the studios/group exercise rooms. Two days ago, I specifically asked the front desk if I could work out in the studio, and I was told it was fine as long as no classes were happening.
Today, I called again just to double check, and a different staff member suddenly tells me, “We don’t allow guests to use it unless there’s a class going on.” The complete opposite of what I was just told.
For a location that isn’t big, doesn’t have every piece of equipment, and relies on convenience, making up inconsistent rules is honestly unacceptable. I only chose this branch because it was nearby, but after this experience, I won’t be returning.

I joined the YMCA 6 weeks ago and I love it! The exercise instructors are great and I especially love the Zumba classes. The Zumba instructors have so much energy and create a fun class! If you’re looking for a great place to exercise then join the YMCA!

I’ve loved this place for so many years but lately I’ve been very disappointed. Their elevator has not been working, disproportionately impacting the senior community at the Spring Valley YMCA. Numerous people have been unable to access the senior classes for months now, even after repeated attempts to address it with staff
This has led to safety concerns as people have struggled upstairs to maintain their class attendance and social lives while being negatively impacted and risking their physical health on the stairs. They need access to the elevator as anyone with a physical disability.
After raising prices to attend the outdoor pool pricing, many people out of summer fun, I think the very least that the Ymca could do is maintain its elevator, such that people can attend the classes that they pay for. This is a huge safety concern!!! I don’t want to see elderly people falling down the stairs!

What an excellent facility! They have something for everyone! No matter your fitness level. Plenty of group classes, equipment, pools (indoor and outdoor), and social activities for older adults.
The staff are friendly and helpful too!

We enrolled our 4 year old in camp there for a week and he came home happy everyday. We didn’t know what he was up to besides what he reported. It seemed like he was well cared for and ultimately had lots of fun. One rainy day they watched frozen, most days there was gymnastics, everyday he brought home an art/craft. Two days of pool, one day was canceled due to the rain.
We were told there would be photos daily but none were posted but despite that I’d definitely enrol him again if it worked for our schedule.

Summer camp registration warning to parents! Ensure that your home location is set correctly if you are registering online. You will not be informed of the location your child is attending and we did not receive any communication on what to bring to camp or further details. We were told this was because of an “IT issue”, yet no accountability was taken. I spoke with several staff members both on the phone and in person before our daughters camp start date and continued to receive “missing paperwork” emails though the front desk said we were set and good to go. When we brought our daughter in on the first day of camp, she was turned away due to incorrect location (originally I had signed up at the time of the system transfer when every member was required to create a new account/download new app, I believe this was the problem). We were offered no help or resolution in this matter and were given the runaround on the phone and via email for days on end. No refund, camp transfer, and no accountability from the staff though we were told we would get a transfer or at least a partial refund. I hope this review saves someone else’s child from the disappointment our child felt when she was turned away at the doors of the Spring Valley Y 😥
*Update Spring Mountain Schwenksville found a spot for our daughter at their summer camp. Wonderful experience from start to finish-affordable camp with organized, helpful, and responsive staff! Will be going there instead of the Y for future camps.

Inflexible and lack any kind of client focus. Insensitive to family dynamics my daughter in law made a mistake signing my 4 year grand daughter for camp at the wrong location. Multiple times, she spoke to the desk before the start date and no one told her she signed up for Voorhees, New Jersey by accident. . Very little help in fixing the situation by the staff and director. App did not work. No refund!

When I was at the Spring Valley Y I felt like I was on vacation somewhere. The outside pool and water slides are fabulous.
