The Everhart Museum is a very thoughtful museum with a little bit of everything, offering a great piece of Scranton history. It features a huge variety of taxidermied birds and other animals in its natural history displays, along with dinosaur fossils, a mineral room, and geological displays. The museum also has beautiful artwork and a significant folk art collection, with detailed miniature Scranton displays and a focus on local artists. The atmosphere is very nice and it is considered a good place for mothers, grandparents, and kids, or even a spot for a date. The museum is well maintained and staffed with knowledgeable, pleasant, and nice workers. Tickets are very reasonable. It has a total of 3 floors, including a top floor for art and a basement featuring local artists. While some find the museum small, it has a quite large collection and a very wide range of exhibits. Overall, it is a very good place and a very nice museum for a small-ish town.
