Blackwatch Cafe
239 Arthur Avenue, ScrantonWe headed to the honeybee festival at Nay Aug park and this adorable cafe was on our path there. The building is shaped like an elongated oval where the front and backs of the building are rounded. There was a musician playing in front of the covered area of the coffee shop. The cafe was packed with patrons waiting and ordering. We were about third in line to order. The decor had large sized figurines of terminator, predator, cat woman, Godzilla, Frodo and Gollum just to name a few. My friend got a drink. My son got a brownie and a 7-up. We ate the brownie outside and he gave it a thumbs up with talks of returning. It took probably ten minutes before my friend got her drink. She met up with us at the honey bee festival. This place is whimsical and a cute place for a date or an afternoon treat.

519 Linden Street, ScrantonKristi and I had dinner at A’tera 519 and everything was excellent. We went specifically for the Tomahawk for Two special, and the steak was cooked absolutely perfectly. They were out of the onion rings that normally come with it, so they substituted the truffle fries, which honestly worked out great because they were incredible.
We also had the grilled octopus appetizer, which was excellent and definitely something I’d order again.
A big part of the night was our waitress, Lisa G. She was hilarious, personable, attentive, and completely on top of everything without hovering. Great service can make or break a dinner, and she made the whole experience that much better.
Great food, great atmosphere, and genuinely great service. We’ll absolutely be back. Highly recommend A’tera 519, and ask for Lisa G. if you can.
