West Side Flava's is a restaurant that serves flavorful, delicious food that reminds some of southern home cooking. The fried chicken, whiting fish, mac and cheese, candied yams, green beans, rice, collard greens, and corn on the cob are all described as great, good, tasty, and so damn good. The mac and cheese is gooood, flavorful, and tastes like home baked. The whiting is perfectly breaded and spiced, crispy and moist. The cornbread is light, slightly sweet, hella buttery, and bussin. Many find the food worth the price, leaving them pleasantly stuffed with leftovers. The staff is very friendly. However, some feel the drink prices are way more than they should be, especially the smaller drinks, and that the cornbread portion is a thin sliver for the price. Overall, it is considered a gem of a restaurant with great food that customers definitely recommend and plan to order from again.
I literally love everything except the drink prices and the cornbread. A sliver of cornbread(jiffy mix, mind you), as thin as my finger should not be over a dollar let alone $2.50. And the drinks are definitely way more than they should be. The smaller drinks especially.
