Verland is a nonprofit organization serving adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in Western Pennsylvania for over 50 years. It provides compassionate residential care, day programs, and individualized support. The staff is described as incredibly compassionate, responsive, friendly, hard working, and fabulous, showing genuine love to residents. The administration is also noted as compassionate and responsive to family wishes. The complex is beautiful to walk around and includes a barn with goats, horses, donkeys, and a rabbit. They are working to install a playground and renovate the pool. The group homes are always very clean, well appointed, and orderly, assuring a positive environment. Onsite nursing and doctor visits are provided. Families report that their loved ones are treated absolutely wonderful and are in excellent hands, calling it a blessing. Verland helps each person live with dignity, purpose, and joy.
I worked there over 8 years ago. I started in 2003 stayed over 15 years. I left over personal reasons. I loved working with the residents and older staff that started when opened.

Verland is a wonderful, caring organization staffed with the most friendly, hard working individuals you can ever met. I'm so happy I have had the pleasure of knowing these exceptional people, they have enriched my life, and my son's, more than they can ever imagine.

The staff has taken excellent care of my brother Larry . Even in medical procedures including surgery, the staff was always there to assist and comfort my bother . The group home is always clean and well appointed to assure residents a positive environment . I highly recommend Verland .
