We are new to the area, and to the practice, and have had a great experience with Dr. Chris and his staff. We were previously traveling to our former vet an hour away in Columbia, MD so that we could keep our doxie on her allergy treatment plan, but the drive can be dreadful. Thankfully Dr. Chris allowed us to transfer her current regimen without interruption, and gave us some very helpful direction for our middle-aged husky-mix. Very happy that we found a great vet locally!

I can tell that Dr Chris really cares about your best friend. He is very straight forward and honest. Not trying to overcharge you like most. Never had to wait more than a few minutes. I don't want to go anywhere else.

Dr Chris and his staff have always been wonderful with our pets. When our dog was diagnosed with a chronic disease Dr Chris talked through all the options and said he would support us whatever decision we made. Great care over the last 12 years!

WARNING AVOID THIS VETThis vet will put minimal effort into helping your pet and will instead look for any excuse to put your dog down. He will take advantage of your emotions and use his position to try to manipulate you into allowing him to put down your dog. Our client went here for a few years, and had to bring their dog in because he was having trouble peeing. after seeing the dog for 3 minutes this vet gave the dog a catheter and rudely said without any hesitation or even a compassionate tone of voice, “I think I’m gonna put this dog down” and convinced our client that he had no choice. The pet owner asked if he could take a catheter home in case his dog needed them, and the vet tech said she doesn’t see why not, and so she asked the doctor, and he said no and refused to let them take one home, even though he had told the client his dog will be in pain without one. Client believed him because of the doctor patient dynamic, but thankfully was given advice that it all seemed strange and that they should get a second opinion, and so the client took his dog to the padonia vet, and told them about what this vet had said and they were shocked. They told the pet owner there were a few options to treat the dog and there was no reason to put him down. They were completely confused as to why the shrewsbury vet told the client his dog needed to be put down. So they set up a treatment plan, and they even offered to give him a pack of catheters to bring home in case his dog needed them, so that he wouldn’t experience any discomfort, and they were also surprised the shrewsbury vet refused to let him take even one catheter if it meant pain for the dog. The padonia vet said there was absolutely no reason to put him down and that wasn’t even something they should consider at all. The shrewsbury vet was SO eager to trick the pet owner into letting him put his dog down, that when the pet owner got home that night the shrewsbury veterinarian called him, and when the pet owner said he was going to try to find another option, the doctor rudely interrupted him and said “*client*, how long are you going to drag this out”. He had zero compassion for the fact that he was telling the pet owner that his best friend who he had grown up with and had for 10 years needed to die. He instead seemed annoyed that the pet owner didn’t let him kill the dog that day. So our client just stopped taking his calls, and the treatment his dog got at padonia vet worked and he was peeing fine within two weeks and back to his normal energetic and happy self. I believe this guy hates dogs. I suspect he only got this job so he can kill dogs and treat them poorly in the back when he separates the dog from its owner. In the years the pet owner had been going there the vet had always been rude, and always seemed angry. One time he took the dog in to have his nails cut, and the vet was adamant he stay behind in the room while he takes his dog somewhere else to cut his nails. 2 minutes later client hears his dog wailing in pain, so as a vigilant dog owner, he left the room to see what was going on, and his dog was extremely distressed and crying while the vet pinned him down and was aggressively cutting his nails, even tho the dog was clearly in distress, and when the doctor saw the pet owner he suddenly said in an angry voice “ok you’re done!” to the dog as if he was annoyed and the dog had been bad. Avoid this vet. all you need to do is read the reviews starting with the low ones, and the common thread is that this man is a threat to helpless animals, rude and disrespectful and has no compassion for the animals and their owners, and he puts in the most minimal effort to help your pet. The fact that there are so many 1 star reviews all reporting the same thing, shows how bad he treats the dogs and their owners in the community who see him.

Had a great experience at this veterinary clinic. Dr. Chris was very kind and gave my dog lots of treats and pets. It made us both feel comfortable. I have been to vets in the past that were very authoritarian with dogs or would take the dog away to do lab work, give shots etc. I was very happy that Dr. Chris does not do this and treats animals with kindness not forcefulness. We will definitely be back and I will recommend the veterinarian to other per owners.

We are very pleased with Dr. Chris and the staff at Shrewsbury Veterinary Clinic. They have done everything that they possibly could do to make it a good experience for us and our dog, Daisy. I would recommend them to anyone who is trying to find a vet ! Their prices are also very reasonable !

I absolutely adore Dr. Chris and his entire staff. They’ve always been friendly and professional, I’m able to get an appointment quickly, and the office is always clean. Our dog suffers from seizures and pancreatitis and after being put on a prescription diet food and taking phenobarbital, no more pancreatitis and his seizures are milder and less frequent. Keep up the great work Shrewsbury Vet!

I know it’s not always the case, but they were able to see my dog quickly when he wasn’t feeling well. They always treat him nicely, and he took a treat from the vet, which means he’s relaxed there and likes his Dr. :-)

Haven't actually taken my dog there yet for service but on the phone I was taking great care of by the front desk staff. Kind and courteous and took a minute to listen to all of my concerns so we would know if they warranted a sooner appointment.I really appreciate great customer service!

Veterinarian is in and out within the 2 minutes assessment. No insight on having puppies because of his own limitations.Instead of directing a client on the necessary medical testing the veterinarian spent the whole 1-2 minute exam time lecturing on his bias opinion of assuming customers do not have money to do the necessary medical intervention if required.Front desk representatives are awesome and fill in the blanks.
