7/3/23 first time up here. Nice spot and good service at the bar from Lynn.We had some beers (great selection of beer!) And split the Cubano, it had good flavors but should have been pressed for a few more minutes as it was on the lukewarm side.

There were 9 of us there on a Wednesday at 6pm. The place was empty aside from one other table. Our service was weirdly slow, our meal took about 2 hours start to finish but most of it was waiting for our drinks or a dipping sauce or a fork. Half the people loved their meals while the other half loathed theirs. Claims of blandness and undercooked burgers from some, atrocious falafel, while I had a delicious Jalapeno burger with mediocre sorta undercooked French fries. I think it’s a place worth revisiting if you are staying at skytop but I wouldn’t go there specifically for this restaurant.

Always enjoy the burgers in the Tap Room! The service has always been excellent too and the historic setting adds to the ambiance. We enjoyed strolling through the Lodge after our dinner.

If you're looking for decent food and egregiously slow service, you should dine here. It's one of a few dining options offered at the beautiful Skytop Lodge. It's located downstairs, and is the casual alternative to the Windsor in the Lodge. The food at the Windsor was excellent, and that would be our first choice, though the Taproom is a better venue for children. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, it's just that the first time we dined here they had difficulty getting our food to the table. It took almost 50 minutes for the entrees to arrive. The Delmonico Steaks were pretty good, but the broccoli was very overcooked and cool, and the Short Rib Stew was thin and soupy. The cost for four adults and two very young children was almost $300 with tip, so we thought the dinner was on the pricey side considering the quality of the entrees and the elongated wait time to finally dine. The second time we dined here, it was incrementally better, as the dining room was quiet. The food arrived faster, the wings were tasty, but the other meals received luke warm reviews

Taproom is reason enough to return back to Skytop! We were on site for a weekend getaway and decided to aim for this rather than the fancier spots on site. We went around prime time dinner and it wasn't terribly crowded but could tell it was filling up when we left. The next day was more middle of the day and fairly quiet which was delightful. The host could use some coaching in approachability and voice focus, they seemed incredibly shy and withdrawn for someone who is supposed to be the directional face of the restaurant. But I'm sure it's just a matter of practice and we got to our tables fine. The menu is the same as what's currently on the website- a nice pub mix of salads, sandwiches, burgers, special entrees, and a few unique bites. Prices I found were reasonable for the location. But what really knocked this out was the flavor. Let me say I try to bring a spice with me because Poconos has sadly disappointed on flavor many times before. I ordered the cajun burger with sweet potato fries and was in juicy sweet savory HEAVEN- the pickles were thick cut, the remoulade was coated but not sloppy, the chicken was absolutely fresh cooked and not overly crispy. The brioche bun did a valiant job of holding up but it did surrender at the end so I finished with knife and fork.My partner had the impossible bacon burger and it was ALSO amazingly juicy and flavorful. Bacon was cooked fresh and perfect. Needless to say, we had to come back for my partner to get the cajun burger for themselves. We also tried the PA appetizer plate which amusingly is served on a PA shaped cutting board (sauces were contained in cups and side plates were given!) but I must caution it is a LOT of heavy delicious food so please prepare to share amongst four or take half home for later! I also tried the beef stew and it was served in a cute cauldron and was deliciously hearty and big portioned. My small quibbles are service is slow...but it's a resort so the atmosphere is what it is, and that the fries had no salt and really needed it. Seriously, this place is a great experience!

Most things were great. Lovely venue, kind and attentive service. Beer and cocktails perfect. 2 of the 3 sandwiches we ordered were excellent, one special burger was not cooked as ordered and so badly plated that it wasn't a sandwich. There was no picking it up. Sloppy construction and the bun was too small for the patty. It was presented like a fallen row of dominoes. Sad.Hotel is currently under construction so getting in and out of the venue is not easy. Want to come back when they are done and stay at the lodge!

Agree with another reviewer - Food is terrible. Whoever is in charge needs to be fired.

We're local and have been coming to Skytop and The Taproom for eight years. Love Skytop overall btw, so don't let this dissuade you from visiting or staying there, as there are several other food options, including one very nice NYC-standards restaurant just down the hill in Canadensis. For the past 8 years, The Taproom would never win any culinary awards, but it was OK for pub food.No longer! :-(Last night we ordered:- Fried Calamari- Roasted Brussels sprouts- Tofu stir fry- Smokehouse burger- Chicken fingers and fries for the kidAll practically inedible. The fried calamari was so salty, it's like the salt shaker lid came off in the kitchen and encased the squid like a salt mine. The Brussels sprouts were like they had been sitting around for days and nuked in the microwave. The chicken fingers, which are on the kids menu, were spicy. For kids! The tofu stir fry may be been stirred, but the tofu bore no resemblance to being fried. Limp cold cubes of tofu. Served on cold rice. Really awful. The fries on the side of the smokehouse burger are some of the worst I've every had. Tasteless. The burger itself, ordered medium rare, was served bloody rare, and had a small dollop of BBQ sauce hiding somewhere in the bun.Why didn't we send it all back? We should have, but we had a time constraint and needed food. All this plus tip was $100 for such disappointment.Advice to Skytop management: figure out why The Taproom food has declined so precipitously and do something about it. Stat.

On our recent trip to the mountains and SkyTop Resort, we had a late lunch at the Taproom and had a decent meal. Service was a bit slow to get seated and even slower to be given menus and our order taken. Out of all of the facilities at the resort this was probably the least enjoyable but not bad. The staff when we finally did get served was friendly and apologetic for the wait.Food was good but neither tasteless nor note-worthy. Prices were as you would expect at a resort and not too shocking. With other options available at the resort, you would do better for anything else unless you're craving burgers, wings and standard bar food.

We ordered takeout and didn't get the salad included that we paid for. We got home and called them repeatedly and they hung up on us over and over. Tom really didn't want to deal with us apparentl!

Cool setting at the historic Skytop Lodge, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Decent food quality, well intentioned and super polite service, though understaffed typical of these times.

Horrible service. We sat for 15 minutes before the bus boy took our order. Food was cold and fish tacos were awful more pineapple salsa than fish. Burger was cooked well done ordered medium. Staff was not friendly. I would give half star if that was an option!
