EVERY SINGLE TIME I contact Citadel, they’re rude to me. It’s never fails. There hasn’t been one time where I didn’t feel welcomed. I called to make a payment on my auto loan and the guy told me that I was a month behind and that I needed to find a new job if I wanted a car. I was also told that since I was behind on my loan that they didn’t trust me and that they won’t accept my debit card payments and that I would need to drive an hour to my nearest Citadel branch and bring them cash and change and that if I wasn’t going to do that then I need to bring them the key to their car.

The Springfield branch is full of rude employees especially April. I’ve been a Citadel member for almost a decade and never had an issue at another branch. The employees talk back to you instead of giving good customer service. I’ve never had an issue at Warminster, Parkesburg, Coatesville, or the Downingtown branches. Springfield branch is so bad that I am switching to BOA because I’m tired of being disrespected. The manager Tom makes empty promises to help but doesn’t follow through. Beware of this branch, I’ve been here 3 times now and every single time the employees are rude.

Citadel wasted a lot of my time. Apparently the people at the branch don't know the ins and outs of death benefits and on the phone a person told me I could go to the branch and take care of an account. But when I got there, the person at the branch didn't know what needed to be done and rather than figure it out, I was turned away. I again called the main office - and after being on hold for 20 minutes, I learned that I should not have been turned away. Not a great experience. And I would have opened my new account there.

There's never a wait inside or drive thru. Nice customer service from the tellers and drive thru staff. I've sat with CSR's too and they're all helpful. I've been at Citadel for decades. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Our mortgage broker found us a loan with Citadel (who used another local bank to source the loan). The lender required us to pay off small balances on credit cards that would have been paid by closing anyway, requiring a ton of documentation. Our broker said a soft pull would be made a few days before closing, so we made sure all our credit cards had zero balances when the statements cut around that date. Unfortunately we had to put a couple large charges on our cards after statement close due to a family emergency. Unbeknownst to everyone, Citadel decided to do a rapid rescore 48 hours before closing and the balances showed. We then not only had to rush to pay off these large charges (affecting cash flow timing) but also had to pay a per account fee (plus a rush fee) to rapidly rescore our accounts again so they showed zero balance. The extra credit fees added up to about $400 (which, thankfully, the intermediary bank was so shocked by this move that they paid it for us). If the rapid rescore had been listed as a condition six weeks prior when we received our conditional approval, this wouldn't have been an issue. We are now members because of this mortgage but I am not sure we will ever open anything else with them and we will look to refinance when rates drop. Anyone using a mortgage broker should tell them to avoid Citadel.

Stephanie is an awesome employee. This review is just for the actual bank. She deserves to be with better company. The actual employees are great at this branch. This company is ridiculous. They are very unprofessional over the corporate line. They will do anything they can default you, threat you and take your stuff. I'm down to earth and know how the business works but they have zero care for their reputation, so do not treat them with your financial needs. Go to a bank that at least pretends to care about people. I moved all my loans to td and Franklin mint. I do all my banking with crypto and 3rd layer app solutions, like cash app or strike. When banks are obsolete, I can't wait until this one dies first.

Tuesday May 10th I called because I noticed the name on my account was changed which caused major concern. While trying to figure out what happened I was transferred to the representative that changed my account unbeknownst to myself. She didn’t try to explain anything but instead told me "they said that you said I changed the name on your account" very defensively. I assured her that I hadn't a clue who did it to which she said that she would than hang up then. She explained I called the "back office" and insisted that I come into the branch because she couldn't do anything over the phone anyway. Refusing to indentify herself when I asked her name and she responded with "who are you" shockingly before hanging up on me.I am writing you because I feel that as a customer I should’ve been treated with a little more dignity than that of which I was treated. I was merely trying to figure out what happened. Was my identity stolen? Was this a small mistake? I didn’t know. However, after calling the customer service number back, after being hung up on, Exton corporate headquarters confirmed that Mary (from your branch) changed my account and she was who I was speaking to.Unacceptable!

Love love love Citadel Credit Union. I have been with them thru all their mergers & they have been nothing but professional & accommodating. I have utilized their various products including checking & savings accounts; CDs; home equity & auto loans & their credit card. Their low fees are the best around & the Springfield branch’s staff is the best!! If you’re looking to change financial institutions definitely consider Citadel they are a 5+ star financial institution ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As I pondered the low rating on Yelp and the other reviews from dissatisfied/angry customers. I still went for myself but had a wonderful display of teamwork from Stephanie and Davida. I didn’t have all my paperwork and Stephanie really helped by starting the process and left it for another team member because she was off.I had a wonderful experience with her college, Davida; simply awesome even with glitches in the system they operated as a team to open my business account! We even talked about reviews but in life I try to remember that we all have bad days, bad experiences but is that the sum total of a person or business because one moment we’re human?! I often wonder about people giving reviews and their true motives!I think of times when I’m not so polite. Thanks Stephanie and Davida I appreciate you!
