I see that the reviews published are from 9 and ten years ago. Yes, the Hsopital system was purchased by Prospect Holdings and the whole system was neglected, including the Healthplex, as it was once named. The gym was taken over by the YMCA just before Covid struck and it was cleaned and repaired and the machines were upgraded and replaced. It is very lively now, with classes for all ages, from seniors to tiny children. I am a senior and my health insurance pays for membership. I find the aerobic type classes in the exercise pool very helpful. The staff is friendly. It can be crowded but it is a huge facility and maybe you have to learn when it is a good time for your needs. The lively use tells me that people like to use the Y.

Please and please for the sake of others please don’t take your kids to YMCA before and after care they are racist they hated my son so much that Ms Megan Rasnake the school age director so rude and arrogant called me several times to pick my son up because he was crying I told her I will be on my way she kept calling me and said it wasn’t an emergency but that I should pick him up.
Another teacher from the school was rude to my son and grabbed a goldfish from him and called him a silly boy because he told her goldfish.
How are you a director not able to manage a child with developmental delays for few minutes before his parents arrive she kept calling me and she said for my sons safety I should come I was so scared of that statement and that was the last day my son went there .
Please look closely before you leap that’s not a good place to be I was shocked and disappointed to realize Megan Rasnake is a school age director of YMCA with her poor conduct and the front desk and the way she speaks to parents it’s such a shame

I went here one day last week just to get my exercise in I was in the area and it was the closest gym at the time. First off it was hard to find this gym and secondly when I went to scan my barcode the man at the front desk ask to see my id. Most of the Y’s that I came to have never asked to see my id. I hate to pull the race card but I have to tell you what I sensed and felt and I felt like I was being singled out because I was a black woman. I never went through this at the other Y’s all I have to do is show my barcode and go to the gym and have a great time. I WILL NEVER COME TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

Horrible YMCA. Please work at your front desk with no hospitality. The way they asked questions. They look at you from head to foot super uncomfortable talking with them.

We went to this location today with the plan of signing up as a family however before doing that we wanted to take a tour. This is where the lady at the front refused because it was after 5pm and when we asked about pricing she was not willing to explain and rather just pointed at a sign rudely. I am very disappointed at the lack of service I have received and it has made me reconsider even going to this YMCA.

What’s the point of having basketball courts if they are primarily used for the kids camp. The kids can go use one of your many tennis courts that are barely used and the basketball courts can be used for basketball.

Horrible YMCA for summer camp don’t take your kids here. The staff have horrible communication skills and they make you pay all this money with absolutely NO MEALS included. You have to pack your kid lunch and snack EVERY SINGLE DAY and the weekly fee is $230+. They have you thinking it’s a “payment plan” but want you to pay the entire amount upfront. If someone would’ve told me that early on I wouldn’t even waste my time signing my son up for this disaster. I paid the remaining amount after I was called by a rude man on the phone. I will not be bringing my kid back here for any camps. Total waste of money and time. I’m glad I got to experience this early on before more money was wasted. If I can give it 0 stars I would.
They spoke very sharply to me like it was a problem. The conversation was very uncomfortable and they gave me an ultimatum to either pay the remaining $98 right away or come and pick up my child immediately. It was horrible communication. Regardless of how much was owed talking to me with a little more respect takes absolute nothing. Customer service should be practiced here. Y’all shouldn’t label it on your site as “payment plan” if you require full payment upfront.
Talk to your black customers the same way you would talk to your non black customers no need for the unnecessary aggression. I am a very understanding parent if everything was communicated with me when I dropped my son off everything could’ve went smoothly.
You’re better off finding a summer camp somewhere else! Where you feel understood and appreciated with respect.

The front desk people are very pleasant to me. Jayme is first to say hello when entering. The Y is a supportive community and Jayme and team certainly succeed at that.

The "whirlpool" or hot tub usually has some grime along the bottom. My brother cleans pools that don't use chemicals so im not too sure what the fix would be for this. Is it chlorine? Anyway service is good but I dont really talk to staff much. I usually start most interactions with the fact I have a brain injury which makes long complex sentences difficult to follow. Mostly because all the brain injury is... is a "shearing brain injury" which apparently means minor brain injury to the surface but it covers 80% of its entirety... more detail would make more sense coming from the neurosurgeon... or just attempting to read the medical file. I generally use the machines upstairs. Doc says to do wrist and upper body exercises. I finish a lot of workouts with cardio. Apologies for not making much sense.

They canceled my membership because I took a selfie in their locker room and tagged the location on instagram. I bodybuild, it was a pic after leg day. They said it was explicit and an abuse to their community? This came after I filed a report of discrimination, it was not an anonymous complaint, against Kelly Corey their administrator. She’s rude and offensive and behaves in a way that’s discriminatory. I’ll never come back here but I am reporting them again.
This is a gym, people body build, they take mirror selfies at the gym. I was mostly clothes but basically in a bathing suit. What a nightmare.

This place is absolute garbage and it’s depressing to see how the YMCA ruined what was once the great healthplex. The locker rooms and especially the steam room are repulsive. The hours are terrible especially for basketball. Changing the hot tub and ice bath to the outside of the Locker room absolutely ruined the experience. All the equipment is gross. I’ve never had a worse experience than at this YMCA. Ownership should be embarrassed and I hope they sell the property soon to someone that actually cares about what goes on here and the well-being of their guests.
