“A true pilgrimage site for Orthodox Christians and inquirers of the faith. The historic property is blessed by the presence of relics of St. Raphael and enveloped in a God-given peace. The museum and library are wonderful places to browse and learn.”
“Being snowed in has never felt more like a dream come true!
My friend and I stayed here after skiing at Seven Springs—and we are sooo lucky we did!! We ended up snowed in with no means to even get food for ourselves. The host/manager (Rachel) made sure we didn't go hungry, and even invited us to make snow ice cream with her and her son since he had the day off from school. We truly couldn't be more grateful to her.
We ended up staying two extra days as we waited for our hometown to deal with their record levels of snow, and enjoyed every moment of our peaceful stay at Baneberry Meadows. The local roads were clear enough after the initial storm for a trip back to the slopes with the PERFECT powder conditions too.
10/10 would recommend. It's experiences like these that remind you why classic B&Bs are the way to go. The gorgeous rooms, cozy vibes, heaps of hospitality, and sense of community here are unmatched. Thank you again, Rachel. You made our trip a memory of a lifetime.”
“Wow, what a hidden gem! I've driven through the area and never knew there was a picturesque lodge tucked away off a back road in Stahlstown. When I pulled up the private drive, I felt like I was stepping back in time. This property is gorgeous and I bet it's fully booked once wedding season hits, so I recommend booking in the winter and early spring when you will have the entire property to yourself. There were other guests staying at the lodge, but we barely crossed paths. One of the highlights was the pool house and hot tub, open 24 hours and located in a beautiful greenhouse. If you are planning on heading to Fallingwater or Polymath park, consider staying at the Oak Lodge!”
