The absolutely epitome of poor customer service. We've been customers since 2009 and one employee's misinformation that lead to a catastrophic chain of events caused us to make the decision to permanently close our account. Customer service line has greater than 30 min wait, zero consistently with answers. They referred us to the local branch where the branch manager displayed horrifying customer service skills. Eli could just answer one single question I had. Every answer was "I'm sorry I don't know". Citizens Bank in desperate need of Customer Service 101 classes. The appropriate answer at anytime would have been "I am so sorry, I don't have the answer but if you give me a few moments I'll find someone who can provide the answer". I could give Example after example from just one days' interactions , but I digress. I spoke with one person out of the 9 I dealt with in 24 hours who was deserving of the position she holds. And I'm sure she's the lowest paid. Just unbelievably horrific experience all-around. Shame on you citizens bank for tolerating this behavior.

I would give zero stars if I could NEVER USE CITIZENS BANK!!! They froze my wife's account every week every transaction since June 2020 I tried to send a zelle payment of $2500 that was declined because her zelle was frozen and her debit card was frozen AGAIN after waiting on hold for 3 hours multiple times we just fixed it again the other day!! Then they can't even speak english!!! Now my wife is pregnant and we have a 1yr old daughter and I have to wait 14 days for them to return my 2500 and whatever she had already is just useless and frozen every couple days!!! Absolutely redicilous and criminal!!!

Citizen bank in state college offers fraud service. They sent me an advertisement saying that as long as I open an account at their bank, I will be awarded for $400 dollars if I have a balance of more than $2000 for over 3 months. However, it has been almost a year and nothing credited to my account. Their explanation is that I have to make citizens bank my default salary receiving account. They never told me this when I opened my account, they just said I need to wait to get my reward $400. During the year that I am waiting for my reward, they kept charging service fee for $9.99 every quarter year(the minimum requirement to waive this fee is too high especially for a student). They also charge me for $2.99 for sending me paper statement every month and I have to go online to make it paperless.

Fantastic service. The employees try to learn everyone's names 😀

The employees at this bank are familiar with the workings of Penn State grad assistants' payroll, and what their perks are--they definitely helped me in that area, and with several non-student-related problems, like a threat against my debit card number and preparing me with currency and advice for a trip abroad. I'm glad I stayed with Citizens after moving here because of this branch!
