Great service from staff. But when I went in to get a 5G-compatible phone, the senior staff member was on the floor interacting with a customer. Both were unmasked. Very minimal air exchange from only a couple ceiling vents. The associate Dina, who was assisting me, was masked the entire time. After the other, unmasked customer left, I told the gentleman I would feel much more comfortable if he had a mask on. He said he was "just finishing up with that last customer and then he was leaving." I fail to understand how those data points are connected. (Does the virus say, "Oh, you're leaving work? I guess I won't infect you or any of your customers right now..."???) He then went to the back room to eat dinner, out of my eyeline. After Dina finished assisting me, I said to her that I was really uncomfortable with the interaction with the gentleman. To which, he pipes up (from the break room, food in hand) that he was leaving his shift. I asked him whether he was aware that 1 in 6 people in Centre county are CoViD-positive. He said that he was. And I mentioned that a colleague of mine who is triple-vax'd was infected at his place of work this past week, that Cricket's page (I was looking at Google, I now realise) said that employees were required to mask, and that sir should have a mask on while on the showroom floor. And I left. Thank you, Dina, for your great service. Cricket, please address your employees not masking during this time. [Store visit: 2021.12.13+17:22][UPDATE: 2021.12.15+17:00] After leaving the Cricket Store on Monday with a 5G phone in-box, and my 3G-compatible Ulefone Armor 8--which I intended to use thru 2021--in-hand, I no longer had cellular network service. After cooking dinner, I tried to call the store... but (duh!) no service. I was instead connected with Cricket HQ, who was gone for the day. Called Cricket HQ on Tuesday afternoon, and I spoke to Oliver, who claimed to have solved my problem and reinstated my account. After rebooting my Ulefone, it still would not work. It bothered me so much, that I excused myself from our staff holiday party to address it. Spoke with Andrew--who sounded like he was an ant at the bottom of a tin-lined well. Andrew said similar things as Oliver had said. To test whether he had "solved my problem" we turned off wifi and tried a google search, successfully. But by the time I hung up with Andrew (keep in mind the phone would only function to call 911 or Cricket HQ), the phone stopped working again. On Wedneday [2021.12.15] I visited the Cricket Store again, to learn that the original sales person (Dina, off duty--who had assured me after numerous questions that I could take the new phone with me and activate it in January) had been under-informed by Cricket HQ. The truth of the matter, according to store manager Matt, was that Cricket's agreement with the FCC/gov't agency was that any 3G customer whose phone went off-grid would be immediately forced to upgrade their phone. This was confirmed via manager Matt calling Cricket HQ and having it explained by Cricket support. The Cricket franchise could do nothing about it, and Cricket Wireless was powerless to do anything but abide by the federal agreement. Was forced to change to a non-rugged, non-waterproof phone without anyone in the store, nor anyone at Cricket Wireless telling me that this would happen if I accepted the free phone. And if I didn't immediately upgrade service, I would not be able to perform pet-sitting for out-of-town friends (only access to the house was via app). I missed several important work-related communications in the process--the sort of thing that might lose someone their job! To be fair, Matt went the extra mile to fix my problem, and he did a great job juggling several customers while he was helping me. Cricket Wireless HQ and/or the FCC, however, should be held to account for this clusterfrak foisted upon the American people by an agreement that happened, now, well over 2 years ago!

Third time wasn't a charm..I killed my phone on the Thursday before Labor Day and stopped at the State College Cricket store for a replacement. The salesman said the model I wanted will be in-stock tomorrow (Friday). So, returned on Friday morning and the salesman apologizes for the stock being sold. He tells me to return on Monday (Labor Day) and says the store will wave set-up fee. I question whether the store will be open on a holiday, the salesman assures me it will. So, on Monday morning, I call the Cricket store, I'm told the hours of operation and directed to dial "0" to talk to staff. The phone rings several times, then disconnects. I try again. Same result. I assume the staff is busy with customers. I drive to the store. Door is locked and lights are off. According to posted hours of operation, the store is open.Yes, mowing my yard would have been a better use of my time.
