Unhygienic salon with terrible service. Do not spend your money here.
Disclaimer: This is my honest opinion on a recent experience I had at this salon.
I just left Davi salon and I am shaking because I can’t believe how poorly I was treated. This is by far the worst salon experience I have had to date.
I was in this salon for all of 5 minutes. The man who was servicing me asked me to pick a color for my nails. I found two colors I was interested in and I wanted to see both before I made my decision. He was reluctant and confused by my request, and I am not really sure why. I’ve asked to see multiple colors at several salons in the past, and it has never been an issue. He did, eventually, bring out the color so I could see it. He then sat down to begin my nails.
The man who was to be doing my nails was cleaning the floor in the back when I first walked in. He did not wash his hands before coming to begin my service. When he began on my nails, I noticed that he had black and brown dirt under several of his fingernails. I was immediately uncomfortable by this, so I asked if he would wash his hands. He seemed quite confused by this (I don’t understand why a nail salon would not require its employees to wash their hands before every service and/or between clients, but nonetheless), but when the other salon employee explained to him what I asked, he became very offended and rude towards me. He refused to wash his hands and instead put a glove on only one of his hands. The other employee asked what my concern was, (HYGINE, duh?!?!) and I said “never mind, it is okay” and let the man continue on.
As the salon employee was filing my nails, he was very aggressive with me. He yanked and pulled my hand and arm. I guess he was not happy that I asked him to wash his hands, but this should be commonplace and it is a huge red flag that asking for simple hygiene at a nail salon would cause controversy.
Anyways, after that he was quite rude towards me and was working very fast and aggressive. The brush he used to brush the nail dust off of me was also dirty. You could tell he used it on several people without washing it. He began filing my nails, which was fine at first. He then changed the drill bit to drill the old gel polish off of my nails, and in drilling my ring finger, he burned me with the drill. A natural reaction when you are burned is to pull back, so I pulled back. It was in that moment when I decided to leave. He yelled remarks to his co-worker in a different language as I left.
I left the salon with a burnt nail and a pit in my stomach. I can’t believe someone would treat a paying customer in such a manner. There are several other negative reviews about this place that all speak for themselves. This was not a pleasant experience for me, and I would highly suggest going to a different salon if you want a relaxing and hygienic experience.

I have been going here for over 1-1/2 years and had the worst experience today. The color didn’t match, the new girl was rude. Told me I would have to pay extra to get it fixed. They took the color off and told me to leave after he left my nails a total mess. Lost a loyal customer won’t be promoting your business. Such a shame!

Just got French tips, stylist was aggressive and rude, smudged one of my nails 3 times and blamed me for it not drying quick enough bc I “lifted my thumb wrong”, lots of small cuts around the edges of my nails, and paint all over my hands.

I have been going to DaVi since highschool and now go to college out of town. I will always wait to get my gel mani redone until I am back in State College because DaVi always does such a wonderful job. Fair Prices, good work that HOLDS UP, and kind nail techs who always remember what I’m doing and where I am going. Best salon in State College!

Terrible customer service! I waited for 20 minutes this morning for them to show up when they were to open at 11:00 and finally chose to leave at 11:20. I chose to give them another chance as my last experience was not great either. Rushed and rude. Never again!

I usually never give a negative review for a 1st time bad experience but this place is bad
1) charges same price for regular polish or gel 2) had to request them to remove multiple spots of paint from my skin 3) scuffed my one nail on the air blower and SHE said " you need to be careful , it's not our responsibility " accidents happen - You need to learn customer service.
4) you don't get to pick colors from a wall 5) two employees ???
There's multiple reasons why this location in the Walmart N Atherton doesn't have a sign in sheet or clients waiting.... you all need to reevaluate and make changes.
The gentlemen who did my manicure was polite which is why I gave him the deserved gratituty !

Updated- almost a month later I guess. My nail turned green, I was able to pull off multiple acrylics without damaging my natural nails. Yea if I wasn't going back before, I'm definitely warning people more aggressively now.
I went there Saturday morning as a walk in. They got me I'm pretty quickly, which was nice. But I am utterly disappointed in how my nails came out. I can't take a picture but my thumb nails are 2 different sizes and shape. Under the acrylic by my nail have little holes in there, and my nail is not even attached the glue on nail. Which can get moldy if water gets in it. She also didn't do a full manicure before starting, I had to go hone and do my own manicure. I also asked for a specific design on 1 finger which she did just fine, but said to add silver design to the rest, pretty simple. She did 1 more finger and effed the rest, and didn't do silver( I could've said something but at this point I just gave up). I will just go back to doing my own nails and save the $70

Worst nail salon ever. Charged $65 for a full acrylic set even though it was posted for $45.
Asked for the peach color, and got hot pink with a yellow tint over it. I said that was not the color I wanted and was told it would change under the UV light dryer. It didn't.
Waited 2 hours, I asked when walking in if they had time for a full set, was told yes and to sit down. The man glued on my tips and cut my nails, so I was stuck waiting.
The nails do not match at all and are different sizes. My nails aren't even fully covered with acrylic. Some are squared, and some are rounded.
The worst part is I left my a horrible pain under my finger that feels infected. Would not recommend!!!

NO STARS LYN IS A THEIF I recently visited DaViNails inside Walmart, and I had a very disappointing experience. I was serviced by Lyn, and what should have been a pleasant manicure turned into a frustrating ordeal. When I sat down for my $60 manicure, Lyn started by putting on the tips. I asked her if she cleans the cuticles first, as this is standard practice at every other nail salon I've been to. Lyn informed me that cleaning the cuticles costs an additional $10. I asked her to show me where this was stated on the menu. She took down the menu and EXPLAINED everything on the menu but cleaning cuticles being $10 was not mentioned anywhere. I then questioned what is included in the $60 manicure and why cleaning cuticles isn't part of it. Lyn became very disrespectful, pointing her fingers in my face and telling me to "go back to where I came from." This outburst drew the attention of everyone in the salon, who watched as she screamed at me. While I was on the phone explaining the situation to my mother, Lyn repeatedly interrupted my conversation. Once I finished the call, Lyn offered to clean my cuticles for free to "make me happy." I told her that this wasn't the way to handle the situation and requested an apology for her behavior. She refused to apologize to me but apologized multiple times to the customer next to me, who had been asked to wait for 20 minutes. Other customers later informed me that Lyn was lying about the $10 charge for cleaning cuticles, but they didn't want to get involved. Overall, my experience at DaViNails was extremely negative. The lack of professionalism and the disrespect I encountered were unacceptable. I would not recommend this salon to anyone.
