It is nice to walk in and look at fish and not see any dead or sick looking fish. They all look very healthy. Owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommended.

The current owner, Jeff, is wonderfully kind and knowledgeable. It’s a great spot for good healthy fish and supplies. My partner and I frequent this shop for the healthy fish, reasonable priced supplies, to watch the fish swim, and for the wonderful service.

Patient, kind, knowledgeable. Only place I found pet rabbits at. Double checked information given and seems to be quite accurate.

Stumbled across this store and I absolutely love them. They take the time to answer any questions and if the folks that are working aren’t sure they will contact the store owner. All 7 of my fish are striving.

We just purchased 6 fish for our pond and we had an awesome experience! Jeff was so helpful with all of our questions and he had great recommendations. It’s so great to have a family-owned pet store so close to us. We can’t wait to come back for our pond needs.

We love this fish store. Jeff and his mom are both very friendly, and eager to help. Jeff answered all of our questions and concerns with confidence and patience. He's full of information on each individual fish. The tanks were well kept, the fish much larger and healthier than other fish stores. The rabbits cages were well kept and they all looked healthy. His mother even let my kids hold a rabbit although we were there for fish. He gave us unsolicited information and gave us hints on how to save money on fish keeping although his business didn't profit from that information. Very personable, patient staff. We came from over an hour away, and this is the best store within a 2 hour radius of us to get fish. He asks questions and has sincere concern for the fish. If you have a new aquarium, or are trying to jumpstart your aquarium without researching them, or without much concern for the actual wellbeing of your fish, you may take all of his information and questions as insulting, but he has sincere love for these fish, and if you're not going to do it right, I wouldn't want to sell you my fish either. So to the lady below me complaining of him asking too many questions, I doubt your fish are still alive. And to the people saying the store is dirty, and the animals aren't cared for, your likely just bots that the big box stores send out to post bad reviews and hurt the little guys. If not, then you're delusional. Oh. P.s. his prices are very fair, and he is the only one around who medicated his fish before selling.

If you feel like getting grilled when you try to buy anything, this is the store for you. Not sure why the owner decided to go this path in life when it’s clear his calling is being a lawyer. I feel like I’m being cross-examined when I try to buy a light for my aquarium or some new decor. I get it: fish welfare is important. But I think it gets a bit out of hand when he asks 20 questions about my setup. I’m glad I don’t live in State College anymore so I don’t have to go here again.

Best aquarium and small animal store in the area! The owner (Jeff) is very passionate about the welfare of the animals, and the I have bought from him over the years are still very healthy and happy. He puts the utmost care into the animals he sells.

This place is always very dirty. The animals are definitely not taken care of properly. It's disgusting how they keep these animals.

where do i start... I have been a fish connoisseur and keeper for 10+ plus years and wow. the tanks that house the fish are filthy and extremely inadequate for their sizes. i have never kept more than 3 large oranda goldfish in less than 125 gallons, yet they store them in way smaller tankes and with even more fish. their breeder fish all seem like they're dying or suffering, with two having swim bladder issues and the rest with their fins tucked in and scraped up from decor. with their "decades" of experience i would expect much better conditons; and to show the breeder fish in far less than suitabile conditions, it really makes you wonder if the quality of their offspring is any different than a pet smarts.

They’ve kept a large bunny in a small cage for years now and use him for breeding.

A great place to get aquarium residents and supplies. Knowledgeable, friendly staff, very good selection. Tanks are well cared for and clean. Dress light, they do keep the place rather warm - right for the fish, not necessarily the people.

Only place I go to get new fish in State College. I bought a fish from petco before and it infected my entire tank. He got me medicine that saved most of the tank. Started getting my fish here and never had a problem since. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and takes extremely good care of the animals.
