VCA Metzger exceeded my expectations. My dog was extremely sick. Dr. Koshko performed 2 surgeries and saved my dogs life.We were checked in and attended to promptly. Diagnostics were thoroughly performed. Risk and expectations were clearly and gently explained. Surgery was executed flawlessly. My dog was very anxious and depressed after being away from us. They accommodated and encouraged us to visit and gave us all the tools to take him home. Each day my phone calls were returned and I was able to speak to the doctor. They took time for me and my pet. On our last day, they were full and dealing with an emergency surgery and they were still patient and took time to answer all our questions. I always knew my dog was a priority.I’m so thankful we went to VCA when we did.

These people are amazing in every way possible! I came home to find my cat injured and after calling my regular vet and waiting an hour for a call back, I decided we could not wait anymore. I called Metzger and when we arrived they whisked him away to work on him. The staff were very friendly polite and compassionate in every way! I can not recommend these people enough or praise them enough for what they have done for us! I will never go anywhere else.Thank you all!

I cannot say enough positive about this hospital. Staff were very friendly, informative and good with our dog! Loved that we got to speak directly with the doctor before and after surgery.

We are so thankful for the emergency and surgical care our three-year-old cat received at Metzger's last year. He had multiple urinary obstructions in a short time and ultimately underwent PU surgery with Dr. Koshko. Everyone we dealt with there was compassionate, we had all our questions answered, and our sweet cat boy is thriving a year later.I have read complaints about expensive bills at Metzger's, and I don't disagree; we paid a lot of money for our cat's care there. That said, every estimate Metzger's gave us, at each step in the adventure from initial obstruction to post-surgical care, was an overestimate (i.e., we ended up paying less than they quoted). Also, I believe the high cost was consistent with the quality of care our cat recveived. We have since moved and our new vet made a point of saying they could tell the PU surgery was performed by a vet who was very skilled in that area. All in all, I would recommend Metzger's for emergency veterinary care for cats.

i will NEVER take any animal of mine back here. took my cat who is only a year old because he was vomiting profusely. told to have him there at 11 am got there at 10:45 waited till almost 1 o’clock to finally be seen then waited another hour for the exam and got told he had an obstruction in his intestines and surgery was necessary because it was 99% sure to be a piece of fabric and it needed out. turns out it was food hair and feces stuck so basically he was constipated and they ended up pretty much just flushing it out of him. so they cut him open for no reason, made me pay 3600 for something that wasn’t even needed and then proceeded to put on the report for our regular vet that nothing was found after telling us they found food and hair and stuff stuck. Knew i was willing to do whatever to help my cat and took advantage of that by making me pay for surgery that wasn’t even needed and then proceeded to try to keep him and extra night and make me pay even more. terrible place i will never ever go back here and would never recommend it to anyone else either. complete money scam of a place.

I can’t say enough good things about our experience with this animal hospital. Our 6 month old pup, Rooster, started with a severe rash a few months ago that progressed aggressively over the course of 4-6 weeks. We brought Rooster there after he stopped showing interest in eating, drinking, and wasn’t acting himself despite the course of antibiotics he was on. We ended up having to take him several times to the animal hospital with two overnight stays including IV hydration, pain medication, and antibiotics. The staff (vets and vet techs, etc.) were all so compassionate, thorough, and loved Rooster. They did everything they could to treat him and figure out the root cause of the infection. Unfortunately, the infection was resistant to all of the antibiotics and didn’t respond to the treatment. Ultimately, we had to make the tough decision to put our Rooster down after a month of him suffering through different treatments. From the first time we brought our pup there to be seen to having to put him down, and even after—everyone was SO supportive and kind. They talked us through absolutely everything and even helped us out cost wise by taking everything into consideration when discussing a treatment plan for him (because we all know that animal hospital bills aren’t inexpensive lol).He loved going to the animal hospital, where most animals typically hate to go. He loved the staff and would be a “wiggle butt” when he was greeted at the reception desk despite all that was going on with him. After we had to put him down, the hospital has reached out to us several times to make sure we’re doing ok and sent out a card with kind words to our family. I seriously cannot thank the staff enough for everything they’ve done for us through this difficult few months. They have absolutely no idea how much it’s helped us heal knowing he was loved by everyone who took care of him.

Just went there asked if they could do an X-ray we agreed, they proceeded to ask if they could give her an anti inflammatory shot, we agreed. Then the doctor came back and said she like another opinion for the x-ray, if it was okay with us. We agreed, what she didn't tell us is that she was going to charge us $200 for her extra opinion. So that's nice. This place has shown time and time again they'll up charge you for anything they can find and won't tell you if they're going to charge you extra when doing things. God forbid when are Danes pass away they'll want $200 for walking in the door and $1000 just for taking her.

I went there because I heard they were the best but $430 later left with no answers. I went because my boy, Buddy was suffering from lameness. They did x-rays and said they saw no problem. I came home and started my own research and everything sort of pointed to lyme. Now wouldn't you think they would have suggested a lyme test while I was there. Now it looks like I will have to make another appointment to get a lyme test, but not there. I count on a doctor to come up with these ideas that's what I pay them for.

I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place. I had to bring my husky from Bedford for emergency visit and everyone at this vet was absolutely wonderful. Tyler was so great in letting me know all the details about my dog and everything in the facility is so clean and updated. I wouldn’t hesitate to bring my dogs here again.

I called at 8 this morning and they were able to get my dog in at 9am after explaining her symptoms. They were very clear with the exam price, and that it could vary depending on the treatment needed beyond that. Dr. Ervine was great, and had everything sorted in a timely manner. Would recommend if you ever need last minute or emergency services.

Your veterinary assistant Claudia is very unprofessional. Going onto social media and harassing people and putting them down for things related to vet practices. I would never bring my animal to a business that employs people who can behave that way while supposedly caring for animals. Absolutely disgraceful!

I am so upset with VCA Metzger Animal Hospital. They did not cremate my dog in the name I gave him. They offered no remedy to correct the error. They are all about money no compassion (front desk)!I had to call the Abby Glen Pet Memorial Services. I am distraught Amber, Ashley, and India no one could take the information and make situation correct. It was like playing whisper down the alley. Tossing me from one person to another. It only took 1 phone call with Abby Glen... I didn't have to keep repeating myself. This vet staff dishonored my fur kid Sir Champson Royale. I called before picking up ashes asking them to finalize bill and charge balance to credit card. The never did! When I arrived I was told finalize the bill and you can have the ashes. They treated him remains like he was a bottle of soda~! waiting for a cashier.I have trupanion insurance I am still waiting for finalized invoice. Unbelievable! No compassion and they don't care. If your dog is hospitalized expect to call for updates at front desk and not get them. When The vet decides to call pray your near your phone or you will miss the call and play phone tag.Overall this was a bad experience because of front desk staff. Can't say anything about the vet. Sir Champson Royale was ill. And his vet tech did take care of him. The front desk was not reasonable we live2 hours away in each direction. 4 hours round trip- when we call give us updates. This was a sad situation all together.

So thankful for Dr. Gonzales and the team at Metzger Animal Hospital. They helped us at the end of life for our dog and we couldn’t have asked for more compassionate staff.
