I went here for an oil change and brake inspection before a little road trip. I came here based on reviews and saw quite a bit of great reviews, that were fairly recent.
I advise to stay away from here or be cautious on their recommendations. I was told my back brake pads were bad and possibly rotors and that it would be approximately $1,1000 to get it fixed. What really made me skeptical was right after they told me that the mechanic told the other employee the car outside essentially needed the same thing. Also, I haven't heard any squealing from my car which is an indicator brake pads are low. I then called shortly after for the number for how worn down they were and they were like 1 or 2. I decided to take it to another autoshop and they told me my brake pads were like brand new and the pads were like 8 and 9.

I recently went to Monro for my first-ever car service, and I had an outstanding experience. The service head, Ryan, was extremely professional and welcoming. He patiently inspected my car, explained what was wrong, and suggested the best plan for me. He was very considerate with the pricing and even negotiated to make sure I got the best value.
During the service, there were some issues with parts, but Ryan personally went around to different places to get what was needed so he could keep his promise and deliver on time. That level of dedication and customer care really stood out to me.
Thank you, Ryan, for making my first service experience smooth and stress-free. Truly the best service in State College—I highly recommend Monro!

Broke down on 80 on a 90 degree Saturday afternoon while driving from NY to OH. I was able to get the car towed to Monro before they closed and they promised they would be able to fix my car on Sunday. They replaced the water pump and belt before 1pm and I was just able to make it to the event I was heading to in Ohio. No one else answered the phone or if they did it “we can maybe look at it Tuesday” so Monro were lifesavers.
Lady at the counter was also dealing with an upset customer who doesn’t understand that sending your kid to college in bald/corded tires is a bad idea and she handled it like a champ; I’m terribly sorry I just don’t recall her name but she was awesome and the tech was awesome to get me repaired. Thanks!

My car was making some crazy noises and I brought it in here. It was after most ships closed. They were great, explained the problem with the rotors and gave me a great price. Tina at the front desk was amazing. I'll definitely come back here

Avoid this place at all costs, straight up highway robbery pricing and quoted me at 209 per brake/rotor+labor for a 2016 Buick encore...a cheap mini SUV (seriously the brakes and rotor kit to do it myself is under 200$), come to check in and suddenly it's double that. Absolutely not! Took it right down the road and paid just a little over half of that.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I have never had any sort of issues with any auto service until Monro's. After having my car for about a week, they claimed it was the fuel pump so they replaced it (without asking me) and that still did not solve the problem. My car would not start. My parents and I had spent DAYS going back and forth with these people until we got fed up because they were trying to charge us $700 for a fuel pump when they didn't even FIX my car. Not only that but when they replaced the fuel pump, they knocked the fuel gage into the tank and didnt say a word. Worst place i have ever been and even worse service. Do not go here I am begging you.

Went in for oil change and also got new front tires. Staff was all very friendly and Tina showed me how to recognize dry rotted tires and low tread so I'd know when to get my back tires replaced. Very helpful and kind.

Monro's Auto Service & Tire shop are top notch. I drove from Philly to State College for a tour of PSU with my son, and woke up to a flat tire 1 hour before the tour. Dropped off the tourist on the donut spare, and Monro's had my tire fixed in 30 minutes and I got back to the tour on time! It was a nasty gash that needed a patch rather than a plug, but they saw I was crunched for time, and cracked down on it and got me on my way. Very friendly people, very reasonable price. Thanks to Monro's! I Highly recommend!

They were kind from the first phone call. Got my car in almost immediately and even accommodated me when I came early. Sadly, my car was beyond help, but Tina (I think) took the time to sit down with me and discuss my options. All at no charge! I will definitely return when my next car needs service.

The front desk staff member was extremely unprofessional and dismissive. Both I and an AAA associate contacted the business seeking assistance with my vehicle, and we were met with the same rude, rushed treatment. There is absolutely no excuse for making customers feel like an inconvenience, especially when they are simply trying to access a service. I strongly recommend thinking twice before choosing this establishment!

They lied about the service I needed and tried to over charge me by $1800. I went somewhere else and they fixed my car for $400. They were trying to charge $2200 for something I didn't actually need. Do not go to them. They will steal your money.
