There are plenty of places to donate where you don't have to talk to some rude "we are NOT a thrift store" lady. You're better off donating goods elsewhere, because this snippy comment is what you get when you try to ask about how and what you can donate.

I fled a domestically violent relationship, which caused me to be homeless with three kids. I called this particular location for help and or advice. The lady I spoke with was incredibly ignorant and belittling. Now that I'm finally in a good place with my children, I wouldn't dream of donating a cent to this place! They should be ashamed of themselves for how they speak to others.

To my knowledge the Salvation Army should take mattresses to be reused or recycled. I called to ask and the lady was very rude informing me that “ they sent a thrift storeâ€. No duh lady, I was calling to see if y'all would take a used mattress as the national site said you should.

I tried calling to ask for help In a hard time and I was rudely turned away saying they would not help. I was referred to salvation army by a few people who said they where good about helping... apparently that's NOT the case.

Took a donation of at least 6 brand new winter coats to this location and was greated at the door by a woman who said “we are not a thrift storeâ€. There was a can along the side of this location where we placed the items for those in need during these single digit temperatures. I felt the woman in the office was rude and could have simply stated donations need to be dropped in the can around the side of the building.
